I was going through the Sonic channels to pull out the ones I wouldn't listen to and somehow the artist/title info disappeared. At first the screen would flash the description of the channel (but not long enough to read it) and then it would post the artist, title, etc. I hit the info button...

I'm a little confused on this. On the Directv website it shows that you choose: DVR sevice fee $7 HD service fee $10 (now free) OR Whole Home DVR + HD service $10 I took that to mean that the DVR fee is replaced by the MRV + DVR + HD fee if you go that route. Am I wrong?

So how does it work if I go through a retailer? Would I have to pay for the DVR? I went that route before and don't really want to have to pay for something that Directv should "rent" to me anyway. And as always, money is an issue . . . I'm in MN, by the way. Thanks!

We are considering switching from Dish to Directv and after reading many of the posts out here I would want the HR-24 if we were to switch. How do I go about making sure we get one from Directv if we switch? I don't quite understand how they can force us to have an inferior box. Seems like...
