I discovered that when I pushed RECORD while watching a program, my DVR records the complete show from the beginning. I like that.

My HD24 100 had the SD channels stretched. The guide is slow to populate. I'm not sure if a series will record today... I have had a problem with playback of SD recordings on the bedroom receiver. I see that is fixed now.

Direct sells a tuner, the AM 21. That allows you to watch & record OTA channels on your HR24. It's about 50 bucks and easy to install. I use one on a receiver that allows me to watch sub-channels on my bedroom TV.

The only complaint I have with my HR24 & two H24s is no ability for pausing live TV when viewing out in the workshop. So far I have only had one recording conflict. Not bad at all.

Good news. I canceled one day before the free trial expired on Sept 20. Directv credited my account for $.80 for partial month credit. D* did not try and charge me cancellation fee. DISH tried that 3 years ago with me, then the supervisor waived the fee.
