Scott's DirecTV Review (DirecTV -VS- Dish)

PQ on SD is usually pretty good, but I agree about RAW Monday night. I got to watch it tonight, and that was as bad of compression as I have ever seen on Directv. It was much better for ECW Tuesday.

Snow, lost 101 but not 119

I will look at the levels tonight and post. I looked at the dish last night, no snow on it, so it had to be snow in the air right? Or clouds.

Snow, lost 101 but not 119

So it is snowing here pretty good, no snow on the dish really, but enough in the air we lost all the channels except locals. Our locals are on 119. Same thing happens when it rains hard. Does that mean a poorly aimed dish? or is the ones on 119 just stronger??

THE CW now on channel 385

When I do it, it doesn't even list the CW. Just ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox.

THE CW now on channel 385

Just called, said they couldn't do it, she asked a supervisor, he said maybe could submit a waiver, but probably wouldn't do any good. I asked who I would submit a waiver to, and she didn't know.. I guess no go here.

    The CW

Same thing here in the Topeka market. We have our NBC providing the CW as a digital subchannel, but Directv is not carrying it. I guess no CW for us.

    DirecTivo HR10-250 Blowout!

I just called and they said $299 for the new one. Said I wanted the older Tivo one, and he said they didn't have those anymore. Asked about my commitment knowing I was not in a commitment, he said yes, you are day to day with us, but offered nothing.

Directv AGAIN drops the ball on SV channels

bjs188, have you looked at the pdf of the list?? Guess what it shows for riley, pott, and geary county... WIBW, KSNT, and KTKA. Nice huh? All the ones we already get, without mention of KMBC and KCTV. You guys in Topeka actually get WDAF I think too, on Cox. Also, Cox does not block KCTV...

NBC Universal and DIRECTV Announce First Ever On Demand Deal

Sometimes there are three things at once I would like to record, for example, on Tuesday night at 8, we have Amazing Race, Supernatural, and Earl, but in this case, luckily WB replays Supernatural on Sunday night. If not, I might think about using the replay.

DirecTV to Launch Significantly Viewed DMA service

Bad part is, for my county, they list only channels I already get in the package from Directv, they are local channels to me. Cable carries the KC ABC and CBS in my town, in Topeka, the DMA I am in, carries ABC, CBS, and Fox out of KC. Sucks.

    Advice on waiver requests

Yeah, I would like the HD channels like CBS and NBC they offer now. I would also like the distant nets as our locals are compressed to heck, plus major ghosting.

    Advice on waiver requests

Thanks very much. I had talked to ABC and CBS and engineers at both places said it I wanted they would just do a waiver. But I am not sure if engineers have that authorit.

    Advice on waiver requests

Hello all, Here is the situation. We have in our market(Topeka) NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS and a low power FOX. Directv also carries the Topeka locals but some of them are not the best quality. I cannot, because of a huge hill, get NBC, or PBS over the air. ABC and CBS come in but are full of...

Take this for what its worth...

Perhaps for you, but for me, 3 baseball games a week is enough. They wouldn't have to air anything but that and I would want it.
