A Retail Perspective on the Format War

That comes in to the same category of the consumer leaving it up to the retailer. Most consumers don't know the differences between the TV's, they want the retailer to help them make the "right" decission, or they are just going to buy whatever is cheapest because they really don't know the...

A Retail Perspective on the Format War

Though alot of consumers are tech savvy, most are confused on which format to choose. When showing a picture of HD-DVD vs BD the consumer is not going to notice a difference. The consumer still needs the retailers to choose for them. When the prices are high the consumer is likely to choose...

    I Took The Plunge!

It is 100% 1080p compatible and capable. I know that for a fact. Do I have to own both format players to be neutral? I think I've spent enough money for Xmas so I'm going to wait on the HD-DVD for a little while. IMO they serve the same function to me. They both output video at Hi Res...

    I Took The Plunge!

I have not purchased the HD-DVD yet. However, the $98 HD-DVD player is only capable of 1080i output and the 360 is capable of 1080p with the HDMI adapter. Oh, and noise... What noise? I only hear noise when I'm playing games and it is loading a level. Otherwise, all I hear is my surround sound.

    I Took The Plunge!

Well, today I took the plunge. It has been a tough decision for me but I finally decided on the PS3 vs the HD-DVD for the 360. What made me decide on Blu vs HD-DVD? The first thing was that I want to watch Pirates 3 in brilliant HD on my beautiful 60" Samsung DLP. The second was seeing more blue...

    PR: Consumers Overwhelmingly Choose “Blu”

And when 7 out of 8 studios going with Blu-Ray and half of them exclusively Blu-Ray. It's not like you have a choice there either. I hate format wars.
