E* is now part-owner of Voom 21HD channels

Conference call over. Not much else to report except that the contracts that Voom DBS had entered into are still being looked at to determine how much it will cost Cablevision to terminate. I personally hope that it costs Cablevision a huge amount of money to break these contracts :p Also...

E* is now part-owner of Voom 21HD channels

Still listening to the conference call. A caller wanted to know when Cablevision would carry the Voom HD channels on their cable network, the reply was that they are looking at this and plan on doing it, but no firm plans yet.

E* is now part-owner of Voom 21HD channels

I decided to listen to the first quarter earnings call for Cablevision to see what they would say about this subject. Here is what was said (not word for word), Rainbow signed the first carriage agreement for the Voom HD channels with Echostar last week and E* will carry 10 of the Voom HD...

Voom sold customer list to E*??

I just wanted to post what happened to me yesterday when I called E* to inquire about adding another receiver to our account. We had E* installed just before Voom went dark. The CSR I spoke with immediately after accessing my account, said "I see that you are a former Voom customer" I asked...

    From the 4/15 SKY Report.....

Thanks for the great link. What is considered full power for digital stations? A few of my locals are at 1000kW, one at 600kW, a couple at 60kW and one at 27kW. Will all of these stations be required to go to full power in July?

FaxUpdate April 6, 2005: Chuck Dolan Eyes More Time for VOOM

People, there aren't 31 days in April. I think that is what this post is pointing out. It is hard to broadcast on a day that doesn't exist. I can personally guarantee that Dish and Directv will not be broadcasting on 4/31 either:)

FaxUpdate April 6, 2005: Chuck Dolan Eyes More Time for VOOM

I honestly have no idea what is going on at Voom. The agreement to keep Voom operating in March expired and not a word from Voom. Obviously, Voom is still in operation which is a positive thing - but it is getting frustrating to not know what is going on. Is there really a deal between Voom...

Cablevision to Bid $16.5 Bln for Adelphia : A Voom blurb

This is part of an article posted at http://cbs.marketwatch.com/news/story.asp?guid=%7B5295BDAE-CE00-424B-9A6C-2346418D114C%7D&siteid=google&dist=google Harrigan said he doubts that Adelphia's creditors could be persuaded that a Cablevision offer would be better than the Comcast-Time Warner...

Cablevision Disavows Dolan and Dish Offers No Aid

I agree that Dragon should be given a three day vacation or be banned from this forum. I would also like to request that this thread by cleaned up to remove all of these OT posts once Dragon has been dealt with.

What I meant by that statement, is that it isn't the news that we are waiting for today....news about Voom's continued service beyond this month.

IS Cablevison going to be sold to finance VOOM?

This possibility was discussed and we never decided what would happen if an agreement were not made. Another common opinion was that the 30 day shut-down process would start over again. I highly doubt that they would stop transmitting on April 1st.

New SEC filing - deals with funding during March

I can hardly make sense out of your post. Do you have me pegged for someone who wants Voom to shut down? If so, then you are completely wrong. I have only had Voom since January but I will be watching Voom as long as there is a singal for me to receive. I switched from Directv and unless...

New SEC filing - deals with funding during March

Several members have agreed that the contract does not specifically address the possibility of Voom going dark. It discusses changes in service offerings but that is quite different from turning the whole service off. I agree with what Walter L. posted about the shutdown process starting...

New SEC filing - deals with funding during March

I am puzzled as to why you would post this when everyone else is having a useful discussion about the topic. If you have a question for me that is OT, feel free to send me a personal message and I will respond. To add something on topic, seeing the details in writing explaining how Chuck...

New SEC filing - deals with funding during March

Well I am not sure this part of the agreement really covers terminating the entire Voom service, but all they say is, "We will endeavor to notify you of any change and its effective date that is within our reasonable control" I would hope that if Voom goes dark, they would at least send out a...
