I wasn't suggesting you buy your TV from them. To me, it is more a matter of the target audience and their ability to understand what they are seeing and possibly be interested in it.

DVI w/HDCP is copy proteciotn. HDMI carries higher bandwidth, as well as 480i, signals and digital audio, but still needs HDCP.

I still don't understand why, if calibrated, the component looks better than DVI. It did on mine too, uncalibrated. I asked wilt et al. numerous times and could never get an answer on whether the STB outputs video or PC range via DVI (i.e. blacker than black).

Purely speculating, but I don't think that 20,000 sub number will stick by the end of August. My VOOM de-installer said he pulls 20% of the jobs he puts in.

r.jones1116, Just to clear things up, when you change channels the signal does not go out to the satellite and back. The rcvr just switches frequencies. The delay in changing channels is due to the building of the picture from an MPG stream among other things.

This has just recently happened to my cable as well. Discovery HD looked great, but a couple weeks ago they dropped the bandwidth and now any motion scenes look like crap and hi-speed panning is incredibly bad.

The only thing that looks close to OTA when I had voom was the 100 channel

When I cancelled , they missed a few appts. So we told them we weren't going to make any more appointements. If they wanted their stuff they could call when they where in the area and we might be home. They came and got it 2 days later.
