    Well I don't want to turn this into a health thread but why not try ground turkey breast? I use that for my manwich and its really good. Obviously you don't get the taste of beef but I try not to eat beef more than a couple times a week.

    I have become a food elitist where I refuse to eat out unless its something like pizza where I can't make at home. I also only show at upscale food places and get speciality stuff. I take food way too seriously.

    I tried these beans and they came out very dry and I had them in for less than 6 hours. It seems you need to add more than 4 cups of liquid.

    Snacks...

    Anyone have beef jerky recommendations? I like the softer kind and don't mind paying a little $$$. I ordered some from Rives Quality Meats : Beef Jerky, Snack Stixs and Custom Meat Processing in Rives Junction, Michigan and it was very tasty but now I'm looking for something with a little spice.

    Whats your favorite kitchen gadgets?

    I got quite a few gadgets. One of my favorite is the kitchenaid pro line waffle maker. This thing cost me $200 but it makes the best waffles ever. I get a restaurant grade mix and takes waffles to another level.
