    it doesn't matter. buy what you want. It's close enough. The manufacturers measure it all with different meters, so it's all relative. You're not gonna be able to aim the dish precise enough to worry about that minute focal length difference to matter.

    You can try a degree either way to see what it does to your signal. I set my old motor up for optimum signal on G10R and I ended up twisting it about 2* CW from dead 0. The other new motor is spot on 0. so it depends on the dish and LNB's manufacturing tolerances.

    heh, they skewed people by not giving a dish that tilts ;) I have a 30" dish I'd give to someone interested in FTA. I also have a DirecPC dish I'd part with for a few bucks.

    I have 2 motor setups on chain link fence corner posts..... both work fine. That setup you have there is 10x more stable than what I have.

    There is a linear D tube Linear LNB out there. I one time made a bracket for sticking a 40mm LNB on a D500 dish to try my hand at pinpoint dish pointing. That project didn't work out too well.

    Make sure your Mercury II has a well pointed motor or it won't work exactly right. I set mine up to do that one night, but all the feeds it found were dead by the time I got back to them....

    they have a torridoral type dish, it's got a reflector on the end with a mid mount LNB. if You calculated focal point etc and fabricated a mount it'd work, but it's not worth the effort.

    How exactly do multiswitches work? I see people using them, but how are the inputs switched and such? How do they blend the channels, and how does the reciever split them back apart?

    remotely control my 4 foot dish motor

    there is a box floating about to control a BUD arm (the 3 wired one) with DiSEqC commands through your FTA box. It'll also change your V/H if you have an old rotor. I'd suggest a new LNB in that case though, a nice C/Ku low temp design will make getting a good picture easier.

    I suggest finding yourself a Chefta Heavy Duty DiSEqC switch. I went through about 10 of the cheap ones (DMSI included) before I bought these. Works good, and sealed very well. Out of the other ones, DMSI lasted the longest until the case back rusted and leaked. This took out my reciever....
