Any satellites not in the Clarke belt?

It's best to view far away from city lights. Unfortunately for me, Miami casts enough interference that I can barely find the North star on a clear night. :(

    Always funny

Not defending hacking, and I don't wish to be flamed. However if you enter the boards via a search, such as "New Post - Mpeg2", etc. There are no warning stickies at the top. Just an observation for the mods. Perhaps a warning above the view level (just below the ads) would help?

    MTV Desi Amazonas?

Not all of us have access to this area!

    Peaking a dish

My buddy and I have devised almost the same procedure as yours, except we have invested in a good learning Radio Frequency (RF) remote controller to change the TP's from up on the roof.

    Re: G10R .. I guess I spoke too soon...

I finally scanned G10R last evening as well and I really enjoyed viewing the Tube. It reminds me of the good 'ole days when MTV actually played videos.

    Tuning into Galaxy 3/C

I use a Universal LNB with a 33" dish and like Iceberg says, the CCTV channels on 10750 come in great in South Florida (both signal and quality levels are almost pegged).

    Is a tripod mount good?

I went to Home Depot and bought a 2'x2'x3" paving stone and mounted the bracket that came with my Fortec 80cm dish to it with large TAPCons. It worked very well and still allows me the flexability to move it when a hurricane comes to town.

    Friday Fun Poll time again

On the KU side, I cannot seem to dial-in SBS6, although I have to admit I haven't been able to spend alot of time on it. I can see from 20 to 157W here in Fort Lauderdale. I am starting to wish I had a c-band setup as I get more and more into this hobbie. In South Florida, what do you think...

    Anyone scanning Amazonas at 61.0°W?

Scream was listed last evening on Lyngsat as FTA, however I was unable to locate/tune it in. Now it's missing from the Lyngsat list as well. Does this mean it's gone for good?

    Tossing Dishes

Add me to the list, I can always use some spare parts (cause parts is parts - Vern).

Think of the possibilities, you could watch / transmit TV AND search for extra-terrestrials! :)

    Switch position question

Sorry if this is a repeat question, but I did do some thread searching before I posted this... Maybe PSB or Iceberg can resolve a ongoing conversation my co-worker and I are involved in? What is the proper position of a 4*1 DiSEqC switch when using a motor? Is is before the LNB's or before...

    Giving up...For now

OK, after one hell of a late night (3AM) on the roof with my dish, motor, Viewsat, 8" TV, my laptop with lyngsat tuned and a nightlight, I finally tuned in my arc properly. Thanks for all your help, now I have to start managing my channel lists (yeah). One question, does anybody else have...

    I am now REALLY FTAing!

If I had the 22Khz set to OFF on the Invacom SNH-031, would it prevent me from tuning any birds?

    FTA Monitor

I have my Viewsat plugged into a Pany HD plasma via the S-video, and although the menus leave a little bit to be desired, there seem to be no artifacts or jaggies visible to me.

    Giving up...For now

Tron, settle this for me please, as me and my co-worker are having the same difficulties as Knuckles... I have a 30" dish on the same motor as you and my most south satellite is AMC5 79.0. I am at 26.1 latitude (Fort Lauderdale) and have set my motor at 26. My declination is supposedly 4.8...

    Viewsat VS2000

Thanks Iceberg, I found FTA after Voom went boom and I am really enjoying it. I bought the Viewsat a few weeks ago and despite a few drawbacks (which are common to all receivers) I find it really easy to get going for a first-timer. Still having some difficulties getting my Fortec 30" aimed...
