    Having problems reading ASC1 Positioner

I am using the serial cable that was shipped with the unit. I had no problems before so that's why I am confused as to why it won't read now. The unit requires me to power cycle it after I attempt to read it just like it did when I could read it.

Does anybody know what kind of dish this is?

It can still be used. It would just need a feed system (prime focus) and get rid of the old feed in the center.

    New gear for 2015

It's reported to be one of the best performers out there. The heat sink will help tremendously in a high heat environment to keep the noise temp down plus it's has phase lock loop circuitry which should help on the weak transponders and the high forward error correction. I will post results...

    New gear for 2015

Thanks for the comments guys. That old antenna was manufactured abut 1978. It was one of the first of many that went worldwide. It produces great gain so I should have good results. The new LNBF should compliment the old veteran. I will post results before/after.

Might be interesting to some of us around here.

Bob Cooper is an old friend. He was a pioneer in the business. He worked very close with the guys I worked with in the 80's. You'll see our adds in the old Coop's digest's.

Yes that's correct a TWF-031. It didn't match up with the feedhorn that came with the antenna but I found this one and fabricated that bracket with some EMT from the local electrical supply store. Really happy with the signal levels now. Thanks for the comment.

I found this RX only feed and it matched up perfectly with the C120 LNB. This feed was on a 1.2 meter antenna. So far this is the best signals I have seen while working with this antenna. Even better signals than with the feedhorn that was on it, but that was a TX/RX system.
