Can a Digiwave DWD60T pull in FTA?

I had a feeling it was that. When I went to Lyngsat and saw I locked DVB-S2 8PSK VAKN it gave me hope.... but I guess that's just a really a strong TP and I got lucky. Alright - time to find a larger dish. BTW - I really miss the old "TheList" section SG used to have. It was good for...

Can a Digiwave DWD60T pull in FTA?

Howdy all. It's been a few years since I was a regular poster around these parts. Gave away most of the FTA gear back in 2015 and have been out the hobby ever since. I've acquired a small 24 inch Digiwave DWD60T dish, threw my old Amiko Universal LNB on it with a newer replacement LNB holder...

    VIP211K for FTA

Hello Vick, Welcome to SatelliteGuys! The Dish receivers aren't capable of doing much when they aren't activated. When they are activated, they receive programming from the specific set of Dish satellites programmed into the software. So they would not be able to view FTA in either...

    Openbox S9 /Solemrnd 800

I'd like an Openbox/Solomend forum as well. Aside from the essential popularity of the request for such a forum, does someone have to agree to moderate it first before it can be created?

    Setanta Sports

The ITC version @ 101w Ku went away when Fox Soccer Channel officially took over Setanta in the US.

    ? Ku Sats between 30W and 61W for N.A.

30w has Cuba channels but I'm not sure how far up the US they can be received. I get 'em fine here in St Pete.

    Slingbox

A Slingbox with motorized FTA works fine. Just have to be patient with the learning and executing the remote control commands. If you have a working system though, its just like sitting at home. I'm not familiar with the HD quality though, as all of my Slingboxes are of the classic (SD) variety...

Reviews: SatHawk PVR800 WorldDVB DVB-S2 HD FTA Receiver

This is a really great box once you get used to it, and of course.. are able to see around any of the minor shortcomings you might have with it. It's my preferred main receiver. Now and then if I need to view 4:2:2, I just use the old Quali slaved to it on standby, or just fire up one of the...

Reviews: SatHawk PVR800 WorldDVB DVB-S2 HD FTA Receiver

Probably because most countries do not have CC functionality on their minds. Other than the US, many countries only use the subtitles function (also known by some as teletext) to display text on the screen -- whether for the hearing impaired or for offering up other information for a viewer to...

    KTV2

I didn't actually know about this channel until I found the version that's down on Hispasat at 30W. (I believe it's the same feed we see at 97w.) It has a lot of good American shows on it. I've seen Prison Break and some good US movies.

Reviews: SatHawk PVR800 WorldDVB DVB-S2 HD FTA Receiver

Really wish the STB could dump the settings to USB drive directly instead of only via the RS-232 port. Having to hook up the PC to it the other day really stunk, when all I really needed it for was to move the file back and forth for editing. I've managed to get the Satellite List to where I...

Reviews: SatHawk PVR800 WorldDVB DVB-S2 HD FTA Receiver

Just got mine in yesterday and this thread helped me get started. I've already pointed it between 72-91 and I'm scanning in things left and right. It's working great for me. It took a LOT of time to get used to, but being home sick from the office this week has provided the space I needed...

    Coolsat source code

I didn't think the 7k was in the same firmware category as a 5k or 6k. The guy's website states their customizations are for 5k and 6k series only.

    Nfusion Nova + Blind scan

I don't think any of the NFusion line models support Blind Scan. I would think it might stem from them not being designed for watching "feeds" in their origin. They were more for the eyepatch crowd, and those TPs were standard things. Google might have better opinions than me though. ;)

I-NET TECH channel on YouTube - FTA setup

Hello Christopher. Those were some really cool videos. You covered the setup details nicely! It reminded me somewhat of watching a TechTV segment when they used to be on the air. Your Merc II is running some much nicer firmware (from the graphical appearance of it) compared to mine... :) I...

    elevator music

If you really only need elevator music, just lock your receiver on one of the Echostar test card channels. (105w, 121w, etc.) You'll have elevator music 24/7, ITC and with no ID's or speaking interruptions. I'm not sure about royalties, but I'm betting their music is cheaper than the stuff...
