I had trouble updating the FW on the Traxis 3500 using my laptop. I gave up and tried using a deskktop PC and it worked. I don't know what the issue is , but I just use the desktop PC for all firmware updates.

Great news I was hoping the fix would soon be out. I'll be getting the update and loading it in. I also don't have alot scanned. So I will give it a try.

Wow. sad news indeed. During the weekends we had the channel running alot around here. It will be truly missed. :( :( It was one of my favorite channels available FTA. I guess I can put away the Traxis DBS4500 that I had slaved to the Traxis DBS3500 so I could hear the Tube in AC-3

I am using one on my 6" orbitron and get C and Ku stuff on my Traxis receiver. It seems to work well.

I too have noticed The Tube's signal strength a little lower than the rest. Right now on the Traxis 3500, It shows signal strength at 69 and signal quality at 67, Using a 6.5 foot Orbitron dish,

I am using one on my 7.5 Foot dish. C and Ku work pretty well.

If you are using the BSC621-2 LNBF,you will need to assign Diseqc 1 for C band and Diseqc 2 for Ku Band on your receiver.

It would appear that DMSI is discontinuing the Traxis DBS 4500 and DBS 4550 as they are no longer listed on their product website. :( I too am hoping for an AC-3 audio fix for the DBS3500.. I would like to press it into service. The DBS4500 which I mainly use now passes AC-3 just fine.

As I mentioned in my previous post, AC-3 worked well with the DBS4500, however since I just got my JVC decoder back I am unable to get AC-3 audio using the DSB4550. I don't have the DBS4500 no more so I'm wondering if anyone Can get AC-3 audio from a DBS4550 ?
