    Need RG-6

I've never bought quad. I personally don't care for the copper clad steel center conductor. I have seen the steel rust completely off with time.

    GEOGRAPHY & THE MINI-BUD?

Using a line amp to attempt to increase signal from a too-small dish won't work unless you are also using too-long cable. GL, Eric

    Need some help with lnb

I'd go with the bad connector diagnosis.

    No quality here either. Sigh.

you could try running a blind scan with it and see if you are in fact on a satellite, then with The List figure out which satellite you are pointed at. GL, Eric

    Channel Master 75E Question

Use the Starband LNB and feed, note that the feedhorn is shaped to illuminate the entire dish, a regular Ku LNB is designed for a round dish and will either over or under illuminate an oval dish. GL,Eric

    Galaxy12 moving to 129.

That data transponder was supposed to shut down March 1, but has been extended until the 15th. (for now) Starband had a ton of customers there.

    primestar dish help

That dish/LNB is specific for Ku band. so forget about c-band for the moment. On your STB, Signal means there is noise from the LNB, just an indication that it is working. Quality is what you're looking for, and you'll peak that while adjusting the dish. Finding and peaking a satellite for the...

    NPRM for roof peak

Prodelin makes one that will hold a 1.2m Andrew (Channelmaster). Takes 16 blocks. Not an easy assembly procedure either. I've used them for commercial installs. GL, Eric

Best Dish for Ku - BUD, Offset ??

If you have the room, separate dishes are best IMHO. 1-1.2m offset dish for Ku will serve very well for most of US in-footprint birds. GL, Eric

Enter to Win: Sponsors Super Satellite Sampler System - Contest Ends 2.28.2010

What got you interested to purchase your first Free to Air satellite system? I had a c- band system years ago, pre VCII. After a number of life changes, I found that Ku band was in use for TV and got my first FTA box. Thanks for the excellent contest! Eric

8PSK module for Viewsat MaxHD doesn't work

The 3rd party 8PSK modules don't work on FTA, only on the once-hackable Nagravision signals. IMHO, Viewsat blind scan has always been less than workable, YMMV.

    RTV AMC-9 Quality way up

Pansat 9200HD is showing 88% here in Eastern Maine on a 30" dish. A remarkable increase from the 58% formerly. Regards, Eric

    AZBox Elite vs. Pansat 9200?

I have a 9200HD. No 4:2:2, lots of sports feeds apparently are 4:2:2. Blind scan on DVB-S out of the box, add-on board required for S2. Only the Pansat Brand add-on board will work properly for FTA. If I were...

Can I get 'C' Band with my set-up?

Anole pretty much nailed it. I've got a offset 1.2m dish with the conical scalar and I'd consider it only hobby grade for C-band. The 1.2m dish is too small for the c-band satellite spacing, adjacent satellite interference is a pain. You almost have to de-tune the ASI in order to get the...

    Taking the plunge

How about getting a Pansat 2700 or 3500 or other brand equivalent off e-bay to get started. (they are going cheap) Then plan on an Azbox for 4:2:2, etc after you find out if you like FTA or not. The basic SD reciever would always be good for backup and dish aiming down the road. if you are...
