Is Radio Shack hopeless for this hobby, or is it just mine?

My local Radio Shack is about two blocks away from my house. If I need something right away, I check the Radio Shack website and see if what I'm looking for is in-stock at my local Radio Shack. I write down the RS part number and walk on over. I've never had a problem. Hopefully, it won't be...

    F1 live feeds

http://motorsportstalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/11/full-schedule-for-formula-1-on-nbc-sports/ Four F1 races are scheduled for NBC, two for CNBC and the rest for NBC Sports Network. There was a feed for Globo on Intelsat 805 for the Australian GP. I didn't find anything for the Malaysian GP.

Is PRESS TV GONE ON 97w??? Can someone please check because I dont get it anymore..

This reminds me of Al-Manar and the guy that uplinked it on Amazonas (remember Tom and Jerry?). He was arrested by the FBI. http://www.tvtechnology.com/news/0110/fbi-raids-backyard-international-teleport-in-staten-island/191696 I wonder how long it will be before the FBI visits the current...

Satellite Launch in just a few minutes...

I watched the Arainespace webcast broadcast and didn't notice anything unusual. Thankfully, everything went according to plan and the launch was successful, unlike the Intelsat 27 fiasco.

    SES 3

Some details from the filing: "SES requests expedited Commission grant of this application to permit an orderly transition of customer traffic from AMC-1 to SES-3. Extra time is expected to be needed for this transition because AMC-1 and SES-3 have different Ku-band polarization...

    SES 3

It appears that SES 3 will finally replace AMC 1. SES has applied to the FCC to replace AMC 1 with SES 3. The application has not been approved yet, but SES has asked for expedited authority so I think they want to begin transition soon. Also, the filing indicates that ku on SES 3 will not be...

Modifying the LNBs on a DIRECTV AU9 (Slimline) dish for 18-degree spacing

If that is the five lnbf, I've played with it. I discarded the 110 and 119 part and just used the 99/101/103 lnbf. I wanted to see what was up there on KA band. My experiments weren't too successful though. Directv uses a strange setup for lnbf switching. I got a B band converter, but still...

2012 London Olympics Live on FTA

You might start here: List of 2012 Summer Olympics broadcasters - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I don't know how accurate it is, but it's something. I saw the Olympic flame arrive in England live in the Eurovison mux on I805. There will probably be some FTA feeds, but most will be encrypted...

PBS plans to go full scall transition to MPEG-4 "DVB-2?"

Is this something new or is it a roll out of their Non Real Time IP based mux that's been testing on AMC 21 for some time now? (12120 H 30000 DVB-S2 8psk 5/6 FEC Pilot Off)

    DTE-7100 Digitrans receiver setup

I find the signals using the Broadlogic Spectrum Analyzer. If I can't lock them using DVB or DVB-S2, I use the DVBTech card or Digitrains to see if it's DC2.

    Dang Pizza Pushers Again!

I like FTA and Pizza. I subscribed to Dish Network long ago because of the lack of HD channels on FTA or 4dtv subscription. I am very satisfied with Dish Network. The DVR alone is worth it. I don't know how I survived before without it. That said, I would never give up my C band and Ku dishes...

SES Relocates satellite to meet growing CUSTOMER demand

I don't think an inclined orbit would be acceptable to the current customers on AMC 1. SES would have to replace AMC 1 before they placed it in an inclined orbit.

SES Relocates satellite to meet growing CUSTOMER demand

AMC 1 was launched on September 8, 1996. So it's over 15 years old. The FCC approved the extension of it's license until October 15, 2016. SES claims that it has enough stationkeeping fuel to operate until then. However, they expect inclined orbit operation sometime during that period...

    QuetzSat 1 at 77W

It's probably pretty easy to get it with a linear lnbf in Mexico, since all channels are left polarized and there are no right polarized signals on Echostar 1 to cause interference.

    QuetzSat 1 at 77W

Echostar 8 is the other satellite at 77° West. Quetzsat1 is still at 67° West.

    QuetzSat 1 at 77W

I can just barely lock it in Northern California. It's coming from Echostar 1. It's Dish Mexico. You need to be in the Southern US to have any chance to receive it as the satellite is pointed at Mexico. A Dish promo channel and MTV Latino are FTA.

    SES 3 @ 67W?

Perhaps it will drift all the way around and come in from the West. At it's current rate of drift, it would take about three months to cover 360 degrees.

    SES 3 @ 67W?

SES received FCC approval for in orbit testing of SES 3 only. SES 3 is a foreign licensed satellite. It was authorized by Luxembourg. http://licensing.fcc.gov/myibfs/download.do?attachment_key=906276 SES will have to obtain FCC approval before SES 3 replaces AMC 1.
