I started a thread like this years back but thought it would be nice to update.Metv is number 1 for me on the c-band side (101) and RTV on the ku-band (97).

One thing i do know is that during the summer months my 6 ftr has a harder time keeping a lock on some of the weaker signals out there.

We love to feed the animals! Once at early night when working on the dish I turned around and saw a deer nearby waiting for me to leave so he could get something to eat. A good thing about working on the dish under darkness in the summer is its cool! but a bad thing is that the blood suckers...

Sorry I was incorrect in my last post! My dish didn't bottom out unto the roof but did hit the lower tripod legs when I moved my dish to the extreme left and right lower satellites. I did put my dish and motor higher on the pole to solve that problem.The j pole may still be ok with your set up...

If you get a j mount make sure its tall enough so the dish wont bottom out to the roof when you use the motor to go to the low elevation satellites.When I mounted my tripod I made the mistake of mounting the motor and dish to low on the pole causing the dish to bottom out on the roof at the low...

I bought the 3 ft tripod and 1.66" Galvanized Pipe online and mounted it to the roof using lag bolts.For a motorized ku system you only need to run one cable (RG6) which carries both the signal from the dish LNB and the motors power.I have a 36" dish and suggest getting a good quality tripod...

Sounds like your doing ok! I was in the same boat that your in now about 4 yrs ago.I started out with a motorized ku package deal from Sadoun and did mount mine on my garage roof! see Pic.If your doing this alone be prepared for frequent trips to the roof until dish and motor are correctly...

since most tv stations that broadcast metv use metv's satellite! Why do a few use another satellite to rebroadcast metv?

I guess its LOCATION!! I have a sadoun 6 footer that gets RTV most of the time on 87w.

This is Great! also a Big who fan.

RTV isn't like it was but I give Mr Luken credit for not giving up and doing what he can to keep the retro alive.

Its about time!! With this and mst3000 sounds like Mr Luken isnt about to give up the RTV ship.Lets hope this is a start of better days for the retro.

Luke could of given up by now but hes still fighting! I wish him luck.

I just checked my signal on ses 2 87w and RTV is now booming!Getting a real strong signal now where before it was good at best.

Hang some bird feeders around the edges and build a small flower garden around its base.

We can only hope that Mr Lukens is just consolidating his operations and hoping for better times ahead.
