I had no idea what ACM/VCM with MIS was before, so I found an article that explains it. Here it is for those who don't know about it.

It is extremely slick.
I'm not sure how the S9 and S10 work, but my Solomend receiver can't provide outputs through HDMI and composite simultaneously due to resolution issues. Can the MicroHD do this? I'd like to supply a composite output to my ancient slingbox at the same time the receiver is connected to my TV...
I've noticed that in the morning they show a couple of episodes of Lassie, Sergeant Preston of the Yukon, The Secret of Isis, and some crazy sitcom called Skippy the Bush Kangaroo. I can't track down a schedule for it though.
I loaded that same Sadoun version via RS232 using the editor, but got the same results. I was hesitant to use the other software (PVR800 loader that has an "add bootloader" option because I don't want to brick my STB by mistake. I wonder if I'd have to do this to get it to recognize the remote...
I tried Sadoun's latest firmware version, but the remote problem is still there. I think I'll try loading that same version via RS232 and see if it makes a difference . . . but maybe I'll mess with it AFTER football today ;)
I restored factory defaults . . . only problem was that I modified the .abs file first and it restored the firmware when it had a whole mess of channels and transponders programmed. Now I have to find a clean version of firmware to load that will work. I forgot about all the versions that are...
Thanks for the idea. I'll give that a shot. I haven't messed with firmware or dumping for awhile just because I've had so many equipment problems/failures over the last few months - I just wanted something that let me watch just one channel that I wanted to see. Now I'll have to start...
The strangest thing happened to my remote yesterday on my Solomend reciever. The remote will not work unless its navigating and accessing the menus. This includes changing channels and turning the power off in normal operation. The front panel buttons still work fine. However, once you get...
Jim, what version of firmware are you currently running on your Solomend? I have a Solomend too, and I'm using the version that came out right before the one that had the green tint problem with the composite output. Thanks.
I've seen the RTV stuttering problems on C band with my Solomend receiver, but I thought it was just a SNR issue. I also see breaking up on the NBC channels at 105W, but a simple rescan of the transponder seems to fix that. Maybe that would work for the RTV networks at 87W too.
I've converted a few TS files to lower resolution (ie the widescreen equivalent of 640x480) files using WinFF.
WinFF - Free Video Converter
It's a GUI that runs FFmpeg, a powerful conversion tool that can convert anything to anything. There are a lot of presets that make tons of conversions...
Thanks for checking it out for me. I currently have a 27" Sanyo flat tube TV that's in good working order and unfortunately, right now its out of my power to replace it - it's a little complicated to explain ;) I'll check out those stores anyway and look at some TVs too, because I'm in need of...
How does this firmware compare to the June 30 firmware for the Sathawk? I couldn't use that version because I only use the composite output and that had a nasty green tinge to it.
Thanks for the support for this STB. We really appreciate it.
Something for a future firmware update that could be fixed . . . the latest update made for a green tint to the color for any signal coming out of the composite output - the HDMI and component outputs are fine.
Even though having...
Yep . . these are the 2 issues I have with it too. That green tint is really annoying.
I can live with the inability to select autoscanning of horizontal and vertical separately. I'm going to downgrade when I get the time.
