Any US actions against a subscriber?

You might want to consider other VOIP providers that offer incoming and outbound service for a Canadian number, such as Talqer. In the case of Talqer, that will run you about $4/month.

Any US actions against a subscriber?

Someone on another board mentioned that there were headlines on CNN, MSNBC, etc., that the US Justice Dept. was prosecuting someone in San Diego because they were (illegally) subscribing to SC. I find it dubious that the Feds would take against simply subscribing; something else must have been...

    Star Choice HDTV in Orlando?

Early *C report Sorry for not posting my findings sooner--been one of those weeks! ;) Thus far, I am pleased with the reception I'm getting with a 76cm dish. All channels, HD and otherwise, come through clearly. It was a treat watching the MLB playoffs and Royal Canadian Air Farce in HD...

What size dish do I need for 91 nimiq 1 in deep south florida?

Yes, you made a quality recommendation, and I appreciate that. You're reacting as if I called your credibility into question, which wasn't the case at all: I agreed with points that Iceberg made about general suspicion raised about what the Canadian providers might regard as unusual interest...

What size dish do I need for 91 nimiq 1 in deep south florida?

Iceberg makes a great point. That said, there are many public companies that have invested serious dollars in using *C for delivery of internal training channels, etc. For *C to take any action impacting individuals would also risk impacting larger corporate customers. And we all know whose...

    Star Choice HDTV in Orlando?

I live west of Orlando on the Gulf coast and am getting an SC 75cm setup installed on Monday. The installers do a fair number of these across the state and are confident that this will work well. I will report my findings as soon as I can watch CBC-HD! Needless to say, I'm fired up. :hungry:

    Any recent DSR-530 experiences?

The SC DSR-530 has had a chequered history. Recently, SC sent out a CC update to the firmware. How stable has the unit been since that update? I see accounts on other boards, but it's hard to tell if only dissatisfied users bother to make postings.

Why Canadian is the way to go.

Another reason: No bush-league moves like D* pulled this morning, "temporarily" withholding TNT-HD coverage on Sundays for the duration of the NFL (read: Sunday Ticket) season. Evidently, they had to steal bandwidth from somewhere... Definite candidate for tool of the week...

Why Canadian is the way to go.

If you're expecting to see Detroit-area pro sports teams through the local network affiliates, you might be disappointed. Yes, you will see the Lions on Fox2. However, with the exception of a handful of games, all Red Wings, Pistons, & Tigers games are carried on FSN Detroit, which is...

    SC and slaves

One of the recommendations from KUSAT is to not use slave receivers with an SC account, because slave receivers require every receiver to be connected to the phone. Does anyone here from the States use a slave receiver in spite of this apparent restriction? If you don't connect a slave to the...

SC installer in north Tampa area?

I live north of Tampa and am looking for a reputable installer who can do an install for Starchoice. Can anyone make a recommendation for either an installer or perhaps a directory where I could find one? I didn't see one listed on this board.
