The core and premium actuall XBOX360's are identical. It is the accessories that are different. Core comes with a wired controler, instead of a wirless ones... but the unit still has the components to work with the wireless ones.

Until there is a "HD" DVD title out, that is both on HD DVD and BluRay.... The comparisons between the "Quality" of them is well... not 100% (for the lack of a better word)

Out of fairness... XBOX360 did not do this out of the box... The update earlier this year enabled that ability.

The price is a major factor.... I make a pretty darn good salary... and flat out can't consider PS3.... $600 + another $200 or so for the extra 3 controllers, and a game... plus 8% tax... .that adds up... and fast. Sure the XBOX360 was expensive too... and it is a factor in it's adoption...
