    Will this impact Satellite TV

Perhaps a better plan would be for Sat & Cable providers to offer packages based on number of stations. Example: Have a 10, 20, 30 or more channel packages. The customer would choose a 10 pack, select his 10 channels for $10. (Just an example) That would be about the only way this would work...

    Switch Help

Thanks for the reply, but I guess I am confused. I don't understand the Direct-TV reference. All equipment is Dish/E* stuff. Unless the switches I tried are for D*. They didn't say but said work with most satellite sytems. Could you clarify? Thanks.

A new player coming to subscription Digital TV

Maybe a month old, but they are up and running now. HD, OTA receiver for $99 is pretty good. (Provided it is not the 811!) I saw their TV for the 1st time last night. Sounds pretty interesting and is one to watch for in the future as they expand. It is obviously a metro service but will beat the...

A new player coming to subscription Digital TV

USDTV - OTA service provider eliminates Satellite and Cable. Right now, they are only available in Albuquerque, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City. You buy their receiver ($99) and put up an antenna. Cost is $19.95 per month. $5 charge for each additional receiver. They also transmit HD stuff. As...

    Question for Iceberg

You did, Thanks. I am familiar with lyng sat. I thought HDNet was FTA but they don't show up on the list anymore. I'm going to get a FTA setup eventually but is low priority right now. Like you, it would be a hobby thing. Thanks for the info.

    Question for Iceberg

I saw you added your 5th dish (wow!) to get FTA. I have thought about getting an FTA setup but want' sure it's worth it. What all do you get/watch on the FTA satellite? Did you install a rotor, and if so, how often do you change to different satellites? I know there is some FTA, HD out...

    Dish or Direct TV

I called D* yesterday to see what they have that is comparable to E*'s HD package/receiver. Was told I would have to buy the receiver at $399, but was only for existing customers. At that price, I'll wait on the 811.

Need help hooking up a terk TV42

I have an old TV42 but no manual. I want to hook it to a Dish 500. Do you run the coax from the lnb switch to the "in" on the Terk and then run the cable from the "out" on the Terk to the TV and receiver and break out the signals with the diplexer? This seems the onlt way it makes sense to me...
