I just switched from Cablevision to Dish.... I was also worried about HD quality on SAT vs Cable. I have to say that on stations that really do HD well ( iNHD, 13HD ) I see almost no difference (then again I'm using the mpeg4 VIP622)..... So I'm saving assload of money and geting almost...

Are you talking the HD channels? I never watch the SD movie channels, but all the HD channels come through in 5.1 :) (well mostly 5.1)

WHat if I JUST want all the HD movie channels I really could care less about all the other movie channels.......

Contractors are the worst . Luckily i had a real cable vision person but when i got dish installed, they sent two kids up from NYC in an old ass van and I swear I felt so bad for them. They were 6 hours later, and didn't leave till 9pm on a FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!! But whatever. I guess :)

There should be something that says "HD CHANNELS NOT ALWAYS HD" somewhere. According to the rep who signed me up, all HD channels are ALWAYS HD. The only reason im not gonna complain to cablevision about this is because they don't seem to charge (yet) for the HD channels.........it still sucks...

Im just pissed that when they say HD CHANNEL, it's hardly ever in HD. Did everyone else REALLY think that this was going to be the case? I understand why NOW, after the fact, that it is like this.......but what the f**k? 17 channels in HD means 17 CHANNELS IN HIGH...
