    Aquiring satellite signal

Though you said you had no "Trees" in the way??? Kidding Check your install on this one, sounds like there could be some RG59 somewhere, splitters, or a bad conection on one of your ends. If that all checks out then I would suspect the LNB. Tell us more, receiver type LNB type, new cables etc.

    Please help. Keep losing 119.

I'm willing to bet you are still right on this one, I see bad cables all the time on 64's that are mounted outside without using watertight connections, and wraping the crimp. Most of the time the center conductor will break right off when touched. The cables that NDSC uses, or even the ones...

Need Help with DishPro and OTA Antenna Connections!!!

Nick, try this link, I found it posted at this site just today, it may help you understand the techincal parts of a dishpro LNB. Not much info in diplexing, but that is not so hard as long as you dont introduce voltage into the LNB lines. switch info TheaterWizard

Need Help with DishPro and OTA Antenna Connections!!!

A pre-amp uses a power injector(power supply) located inside the home, while the meat of the operation is located close to the antenna where power is usually not available. Used to attempt to boost the available signal of an OTA antenna. A booster is a box with coax in and out, and an AC...

Need Help with DishPro and OTA Antenna Connections!!!

I have done same hookup with multiple diplexers before with success, however I have not tried with a preamp. I would try to put the OTA amp close to the receiver after you exit the diplexer, even though its not proper at least you wont add voltage to the receiver that way, and you might just get...

Sharing a 501 S-Video/audio Over Coax - Can it be done?

Pretty sure Hemway was looking to use the exsisting coax aready ran in his house. If I am wrong and you would want to run new cables go for it. monster has a 100' s-video series II($100) that works great at that length. anything longer and you will loose color signal.

How to get 5 receivers working at once.

The sw21 is a 2 into 1, it works backwards from a splitter. To do it right you need another 64, or loose the whole legacy thing, and update to two DP34's.

    HD TV w/PVR 721 and 811 receivers

You would need to run another line from the dish to feed the 811, then hook the component inputs to the 811. Done. leave the 721 hooked up as is. Depending on the age of the mit's you may need to get an adapter cable to access the HDTV inputs.

Sharing a 501 S-Video/audio Over Coax - Can it be done?

I know Terk makes a unit that converts audio/video into phone line then back, but not coax. I dont think there is such an animal available, and if there was once you used the coax for signal transfer your "better picture" would be lost.

6000u remote does not do anything on UHF

What remote address are you using? Did you reprogram the remote to match the address on the 6000? Just a suggestion.

    Whole house distribution question

Nice work, that is exactly what I was trying to recommend, however not using stereo modulators as he was using the coax output anyway(which is a mono output)to save him some $$.

Adding 61.5 to Dish 500 w/ DP Quad

Seems to me I have tried this in the past with no luck, has anyone here actually used a legacy LNB with a DP34 switch? I have always been warned not to use that combination. Would be a lifesaver in alot of situations.

Adding 61.5 to Dish 500 w/ DP Quad

Since the quad is DP I would assume that the installer would leave it and just add the new dish for 61.5 and a DP34 switch. There is no reason to take the quad down and replace it for the twin unless he plans on taking the quad(not good) for himself!

    Whole house distribution question

If there is any picture on channel 2 or 4 form your OTA then you will get a result similiar to what you are seeing. With modulators you get to choose the channel to display you sat on so there are no interference issues.

    Whole house distribution question

I may be a little late here but this is what I was thinking for your system. Use the modulator Aska RFDM-200 input the sat receiver into input one, put your VCR into input two. combine the output of the modulator with the ant signal using the inexpensive channel master combiner on the bottom...

How many inputs does a SW34 need to output 4 signals?

Please post back what kind of switch the installer uses here, I would be willing to bet that he puts a DP twin and a DP34 in for you. You can idintify the LNB as a DP because it will have a black logo on the front of the case unlike the lagacy.

New Cable Runs in my House - Need Help on how to Do...

I run cables for a living, and the rule of thumb is: If you have a attic or unfinished basement your in luck If your are running to an inside wall piece of cake, if its exterior, be prepared for headaches, but its still possible from an attic. Without writing down every job I ever did...

How many inputs does a SW34 need to output 4 signals?

No, the DP34 must have a DP single, twin or Quad used with it to get four outputs. Sorry, even a SW64 needs all four from your legacy Quad. You need to run all four outputs from the dish, or get a DPTwin, and a SW34.
