X1 DVR - video flashes & crackling in the audio

I was on Comcast with the X1 receiver when I posted about this problem a year ago. I never liked the way the X1 box worked. It was too clunky for me, so I'm back with Dish again for TV and only use Comcast for internet.

    Comcast channel lineup is ....

In the San Francisco Bay Area the HD stations start at 701 and go up to about 850. Example: Channel 2 SD is 702 HD, 13 SD is 713, etc. Shows how the channel number differs so much from area to area. I agree, though, the numbering sequence makes no logical sense.

    Speed increase to 250 mB!

I just re-read your previous post... I see that you were just quoted that $149 price. Call the number I gave above. The CS agent I got knew all about the deal for $69. I have the newest modem available (a rental), the Cisco XB3 with the 2.4 and 5 GHz outputs and open Xfinity Wifi.

    Speed increase to 250 mB!

It goes up $25 a month at the end of the two year period. They said the regular price was $149.95 with any special deals. That's apparently what WickedDude is paying.

    Speed increase to 250 mB!

Sorry, I have no idea where the special is available. I got the offer in the mail from Xfinity. You could call and ask. The number they said to call is 1-877-342-6469. The feature is called "Extreme 250 Internet".

    Speed increase to 250 mB!

I got an offer from Comcast in the mail offering 250 Mb download internet for $69.99 for 24 months. I've been paying $66.95 for Performance 75 Mb and getting about 85 down, 6 up. For $3 more a month I could more than triple my speed! That was a deal I couldn't refuse. I called Comcast and 10...

    Comcastic Speed Increase coming soon

Here in San Francisco I started out with 28 Mb down, 3 Mb up with Comcast Internet, then a few months ago it went up to 58 Mb down, 6 Mb up. A few days ago my speed went up again and it's now 89 Mb down, but still 6 Mb up. We received no notice... it just happened.

X1 DVR - video flashes & crackling in the audio

For the past week or so I've experienced four instances where I saw flashes of white going across the screen intermittently along with crackling static in the audio. Rebooting clears up the problem, but in a day or two it returns. Is anyone else seeing and hearing this interference?

    X1 DVR

The X1 DVR is nice, but it still has a few glitches. Sometimes the response times to your requests are a bit long and occasionally it will not respond at all, especially when working with the list of recordings. I was having more trouble until recently when a user here advised rebooting once a...

    Delayed response in menu

So far, so good. I rebooted and I didn't experience any delay tonight. Thanks, Berck.

Thanks, Berck. I haven't rebooted in ages, so I'll see if that helps.

    Delayed response in menu

I've been experiencing several occasions lately where you click on the remote for the X1 DVR to do something and nothing happens for as much as 15 seconds. I know it's getting the signal, because it eventually does respond, but it gets frustrating when you're trying to look through your list of...

    Dropping Directv for Xfinity X1

The new Comcast X1 DVR is very nice and it works well. Occasionally you'll hit a button when working on the menu and you'll get no response. I found out that you don't hit the button again. In a few seconds it will react and respond to both hits. As for the channel line up, all of the lower...

    Re: X1 Questions

Ejb1980... as a new Xfinity X1 user I was having a terrible time finding the channel I wanted. I had to keep using "Search". Like you I made a list on Excell and put it on line so I could use my phone to find the channels quickly. If anyone wants to check it out, you'll find my list at...

    xfinity triple play

We have had the Infinity X1 DVR for several weeks now, and except for one evening when it didn't record any of the programs it was supposed to, we've had no problems. It seems to be reliable, and now that I've got used to the remote, easy to work. Downloads are working fine, too. I have no...

    Xfinity's X1

I had this info included in another thread but thought I should include it here too. I found a quick way to turn closed captions on and off without having to go through several clicks on the menu. Just hit the arrow down button on the remote, go the the yellow CC symbol and click. It...

Any secret codes on the X one box

My DVR was on pause and it went to the screen saver with pictures and various notes. I noticed an interesting note on closed captions. You can easily turn CC ON and OFF using the arrow down button on the remote instead of having to go through several clicks on the menu. Just hit the down...

    Xfinity's X1

The 30 second advance / 15 second back feature is working great! Do any of you know of a custom entry for turning captions on and off from a button on the romote? Now it requires several button pushes to turn the captions on and off. Sometimes you just can't make out what's being said during...

Mrhermit said> I have also set my remotes to the 30 seconds ahead and 15 seconds back feature. How do you do the 30 second advance? I know about the 15 seconds back on the X1, but haven't found the 30 second advance. Thanks. Larry SF
