Testing the new Titanium C138 Performance Plus C Band LNBF

DRO or PLL? Just curious. Excellent service from the previous models with the heat sink. Operate at +43 to -40C, haven't noticed enough drift to create issues throughout that temperature range. Have 3 dual Ti LNBFs running here on my C-band dishes.

    Found a C band dish.Now what?

@ILoveSats Check the actuator, pull off the boot and remove the back. Clean out any debris etc and check the wires. If it looks not too bad power up the motor and see what it does. Might just need a good cleaning. 12v should get it to move. Make sure you apply power to the motor wires (heavier)...

    Satellite c-band dish problem

Did your dish turn on it's pole, or the pole bent a bit? Check your pole is perfectly vertical, then check the mount is vertical etc. Have to start at the beginning and work your way through the alignment procedure so you don't miss anything. Good luck!

Anybody recommend usa meter budget less than 200

Most FTA receivers have a built-in meter that works very well. Just use an active transponder. May have to program it in, but not a big deal. Just take a display out to the dish with the receiver and power source. I also have an SH-200 from a few years ago. It works fine as long as it doesn't...

Monopole feed plate needed for 10' Winegard Pinnacle

Ok, always too bad to have to spend a lot on this sort of thing. Hope it works out for them. Take care & best of the season!

Monopole feed plate needed for 10' Winegard Pinnacle

I have a plate for one of our old microwave backhaul reflectors, maybe PM me the dimensions for the center pipe, outer circumference, and thickness. Looking at the images this one might be too big, but no scale to compare. Think this is a sinclabs antenna, feed was tuned for 1822 mHz.

    Big dish base

I've used three 14" concrete piles for one of my dishes, they are more than 10' deep to get below the frost line here, some rebar, and 5/8" X 3ft threaded rod (bent at the bottom) in the piles. Like JFOK above it allows for adjustment and/or easy removal of the antenna support structure if ever...

    RTPi - No Signal

The connector issue at the receiver you describe is definately a problem. The braid MUST be in contact with the connector shell in order for it to work. Also, there must not be a short between the braid/connector shell and the center wire, as this could damage your receiver. I would cut back...

    ME TV

Interesting, was going to watch the MeTV Saturday evening SvenGhoolie show but my system had a hickup and I had to re-boot everything. When it came back up it took almost half a minute for video to show (audio came in right away), at first I thought it might have been scrambled. Maybe I'll have...

    Amateur Mistake.

Looks like another foot taller would clear the fence.. The wood fence won't completely block the signal either, but likely enough to make a difference. Maybe trim the fence? Nice trees to your east, guess reception in that direction will be limited as well.

Big pro dishes in Northern BC

3 big Andrews commercial dish reflectors... Definitely need a crane for removal. Hope someone local in BC can upgrade their dish farm!

    Importance of your String Test!

Always the first to-do when looking at a used dish reflector. A step ladder, tape, and some string; it's saved me a lot of grief in the past identifying lost-causes etc. Some of the older fiberglass dish reflectors have a bit of warpage just from being installed for many years. Often these can...

    H to H slop

Didn't the radio Shack HH use a chain drive somehow? If so check the chain tension, think you can move the drive motor to adjust. But also check all the mounting hardware, something could be loose that could cause a big problem later on... might want to do this first. A buddy of mine used to...

127w strange skew on horizontal TPs

Hi Brian, This is actually a Ku dish so the surface for C-band should be good, no dents or anything, was real careful getting it home from the original site. Seems to have been stable last couple of days now. Quite possible another TP on the same frequency or close by on an adjacent satellite...

127w strange skew on horizontal TPs

Noticed I had to change the horizontal skew by about 20 degrees a couple days ago to get some of the channels on 127. Vertical seems to have changed slightly too but not as bad, maybe 5 deg. Of course using a C2W-PLL LNBF the vertical TPs did drop in signal a bit. Yesterday the signals were weak...

    BUD Cover Ideas?

Think I remember someone suggesting using car wax on the dish to allow the snow to slide off easier. I think tried that with a Ku dish. It worked ok but just never got around to doing it again. Wouldn't help with hail though. Could also build a geodesic radome around the dish like at radar...

Connecting a Polarotor C/Ku feed to 6 Receivers? ASC-1 Mover

Dual C-band LNBF and milti-switch. Each receiver would see both polarities, any time.

    C/Ku LNBF Combination....your experience?

I use a thick plastic vapour barrier sheet over the scaler opening on my 8' offset dish. Have to replace it once a year as the plastic breaks down. The margerine lid only lasts a month or two at most up here. There is air flow through where the scaler and LNBF meet to provide circulation. Sorry...

    97W 3952 transponder signal strength

Interesting only getting 10dB S/N on that TP this afternoon. Plays perfectly fine though. Good luck with the dish!

    Help ID Actuator Size

Judging by feedhorn diameters likely a 24". If the measurment between where the motor and end of the tube where the center moves in and out is 26-27" then is likely a 24. If it's a foot longer then... Lots of LNBs and a spare servo are always good to have. What are the specs (models) on the LNBs?

Cable Company Leaving TV Business (Nice Dish)

Small local cable companies are great sources of used C-band dishes, often for free when they shut down or get bought out. Also TV and radio stations... many of their feeds are IP these days and they are willing to part with satellite hardware they're not using.

Solid 6' Vs. Mesh 8' BUD

A 6' solid if in good condition should work well for Ku reception... Also painting a large dish to match the background can make it almost disappear (camo).

    Horizon to horizon motor issue

Those are limit switches for sure, they have to work or things can get messed up. Mouser or Digi-Key would carry replacement switches similar to that with the long tabs, think I've seen them. The connector that came out is likely corroded so not likely possible to repair the switch. Might be a...

    Polar mount

Yes that is the declination adjustment, I have one that looks and works very similarly. Must be fairly far north (or south) in latitude, seems like a lot of declination on that mount.
