non magnetic or magnetic sheet metal panels on 9 foot dish

The material that you show in your picture is called expanded metal, or expanded mesh. It should be available from metal retailers. It can be obtained in a variety of opening sizes and different materials. A note of caution; Make sure that you understand the dimensions of expanded metals...

    BUD C-Band LNB gone bad?

I have to offer this. I read the thread and the OP mentioned that he had tried adjusting the skew and bumping the dish. However he never mentioned that, while trying to adjust the skew, if he verified that the probe in the feedhorn was, in fact, moving. I only offer this as one more thing to...

12 ft Paraclipse Classic Polar T Antenna

The polar mount with the long pole on which is comes is adequate to keep the dish edge from hitting the ground providing that you are on level ground. If on the side of a hill care must be taken to ensure that the dish does not have a chance to contact the earth. Paraclypse recommended a pole...

    Adventures In Dish Hunting 2012

If you are talking the classic paraclypse with the heavy duty struts that look like trusses, they did make a 10 foot size. I have an old pice list that does NOT mention cost of purchasing a 10 foot dish, but does mention kits available for upgrading the mesh for a ten foot classic.

    Default polarity H or V

The ideal solution is to have about +45 on one tp and -45 on the next. However, any position of your feed horn that allows you to adjust your polarity and receive a good strong signal without going to +90 or -90 is good. So a +70 and -20 would be ok. It sill leaves room for adjustment.

Care and Feeding of a 12 foot Paraclipse...

The only cautionary note would be that unless you remove the mesh completely from betwen the ribs where you want to disassemble th dish, you run a risk of bending it. Once a rib is detached from the cross supports, and you pull the dish apart, the edge of the mesh is exposed and susceptable to...

    Rescreening a mesh dish?

Aluminum screen can be very difficult to work with. If you are giving thought to overlaying a mesh panel, how would you attach the screen? It is so flexible and can be distorted so easily, I would think you might actually degrade your signal reception. If you can currently receive what you...

    12 ft Paraclipse manual

I just love to find stuff out about these dishes. After reviewing your photos I see that your dish has a polar "L" type mount. Photo number 4 shows it fairly well. Not that it has a short piece of cable attached to the bottom of the pivot shaft. The loose end of that cable is supposed to be...

    12 ft Paraclipse manual

Good Luck. My best guess as to the weight of the 12 foot dish is around two hundred pounds. It maybe lighter, but on the ground it is a little awkward. As you will see, the edge of the mesh on the dish is not well supported and requires a lot of attention when moving to avoid damage. Now about...

Paraclipse ?? for Maui guy or Stogie or???

One more thought. Re-reading your message makes me think that you are constantly adjusting your dish by extending or retracting your actuator, then adjusting your elevation to compensate for not having the pole set to a true north south. Did I read that correctly?

Paraclipse ?? for Maui guy or Stogie or???

I think Stogie is correct. In looking at the photo closely, it looks like the declination pivot point is located between the polar pivot tube and the dish. (to the left of the declination bolt Stogie mentioned). Measuing the correct declination will not be particularly easy. You will need...

If you remember when you were helping me with mine I asked you about those nylon bolt/spacer things.... :D I'd be willing to BET, SOMEONE in the wide, wide, world of hardware sells bolts with holes drilled through the center....;) Yeah, I recall kicking that topic around a little. I have not...

    Paraclipse thumbscrew

Stogie, My thoughts on that thumb screw are as follows, and I would like your opinion. I was going to purchase some steel bolts (prefferably stainless steel) of the same size. I do not have a lathe so I was going to go to the scrap metal place and pick up some solid aluminum stock maybe...

    12' Paraclipse Questions

The position of the button hook is not important. The key will be when you mount your Feedhorn. I think in the mounting plate on the button hook, there are three holes. You only need to be able to bolt up your Feed. If you are goung to use something like the corotor II then the scalar ring...

    Free 8 footer Paraclipse

Looks like you will need a pole that is about five feet above ground. If it is an eight foot dish i guess you could go down to four feet, but that would put the edge of the mesh reall close to the ground. I would install the mount first. Then I would fix up the mesh but leave off the bottom...

NPS call! Get a Second Opinion (long post)

This is just a guess, but I am following the line of the initial installation. The first thing we do is power up the receiver and go to a satellite that has the maps. After we get the maps we are directed to call a provider and give them our digicipher number for programming authorization...

    Free 8 footer Paraclipse

If you are talking the full length square polar mount tube which is about five or six feet long, I used a gin pole rig to lift mine up. Mine was lifted high enough to place the sqare tube on a seven foot long pole. If you have that full length mount, I think the bolts for tightening it to...

    Actual Declination adjustment??

If you adjusted your elevation and declination. You will need to rotate the dish on the pole now. Ideally you would want to go to the satellite that is nearest to due south of your location, the slowly rotate the dish until you pick up a signal. Then fine tune it with your receiver.

    How To fix this

I do not want to throw a wet blanket on your party, but I have to believe it is a problem with your reed switch, or your sensor wiring. One time I wired up a new actuator, and thought all was secure. I got weird count information back through my 922. It would do nothing then surge a few...
