Solid 6' Vs. Mesh 8' BUD

Wouldn't "the bigger, the better" rule pretty much apply these days? I say that with the C-band repack coming up. I would think that to go as big as possible would help overcome any noise figures that will come up once 5G on C-band goes nationwide.

Cable Company Leaving TV Business (Nice Dish)

It's a nice looking dish for sure. I doubt they'd give it away after all of the investment they've made in the cable TV business over the years. They just couldn't justify staying in business as a small county TV cable company when their pricing continued to jump. Before they announced their...

Cable Company Leaving TV Business (Nice Dish)

After serving my local community for 21 years, my local utility company is getting out of the cable TV business. I know I couldn't afford it or have the space for it, but I'm guessing the giant Simulsat dish on their roof along with their digital and analog equipment will likely be sold or...

    c-span

With the decrease in bandwidth on C-band for the cellular services, I figure that satellite transponder leasing will be more costly (supply and demand) and some may decide to go via fiber or via the Internet only. I used to want a C-band dish back in the day for all of the FTA stuff, but with...

FCC Replacing BUD for those with protected status.

Actually the C-band frequencies that are being taken should include rural areas as well as population centers. I remember reading up on the AT&T Long Lines (The strange looking horns on communication towers) that used C-band frequencies prior to satellite to distribute communications across the...

What was your favourite memory of a feed or channel on cband before channels got scrambled ?

I've only seen footage on YouTube regarding C-band surfing. On a side note, I enjoy watching old vids of channel surfing on analog cable. I never had C-band as a kid, but I remember surfing analog cable channels in the 80s and 90s. I especially like to see footage of old analog encryption...

FCC to sell c band spectrum

Time will tell as far as that is concerned. I'm wondering what the difference in cancer rates will be in 10 years. I've read articles talking about breast cancer in women that kept their phones tucked in their bras. Johnny Cochran constantly kept a cell phone to his head. He later ended up dying...

FCC to sell c band spectrum

I live near two markets that have channels in those frequencies, so I don't think their seldom used. On another note, I spoke with an expert who stated that those frequencies on the T-band were only in used in certain markets only. Hopefully that doesn't affect many. I was just worried that...

FCC to sell c band spectrum

I didn't know what the T Band was, but Googling it shows they're wanting to sell 470 MHz to 512 MHz. I don't see how they can do that with UHF channels 14 to 20 overlapping on those frequencies. The TV bands will already be tightly packed next year, and it would seem that any cell phones...

FCC to sell c band spectrum

The only part of 5G that would benefit the rural areas would be the 5G Lite deployment that T-Mobile's doing after July of next year with the 600MHz band. It won't be getting gig speeds, but I'm sure it'll be slightly better than the current LTE standard in use.
