    What else do I need?

The BSC621-2 is a "C/Ku LNBF" meaning it is the whole works (feed horn, C-band LNB, and Ku-band LNB). It also has a built in diseqc switch and operates polarity (H/V) via the coax cable and 13/18 volts. You would replace the entire feedhorn with this. So this will work for C/Ku connected to...

    Surge protecter

Basically lightning with a nearby strike can "make electricity" in wires running nearby (without actually "touching" the wires). The longer the wire run, the more electricity which will be "generated' inside the wires when lightning strikes nearby. With a satellite receiver, in addition to the...

How many people returning to C-band?

I wanted C AND Ku all along and to be able to click on a channel and FTA receiver moves dish and I get a C or Ku channel. But this was not possible (with most FTA receivers) until they recently came out with the BSC621-2 C/Ku LNBF. This controls polarity with 13/18 volts and works along with...

    Surge protecter

The surge protectors installed at the main panel are called whole house surge protectors. An electrician can install these and they do work with most electrical surges. You also should have an excellent grounding system up to "code" which is 2 ground rods placed 6 ft. apart and a cold water pipe...

What's the difference between a "universal" LNBF and a "Standard Linear" LNBF

An LNB converts a very high frequency to a lower frequency which travels on the coax to your receiver. Then you need to set your receiver to the L.O. (or Local Oscillator) of the specific LNB you are using. Many times LNB's will say the L.O. on the label or you can get this from the...

    Twisting by the pole

What I do is got to a sat in the west and see if the dish needs to go up or down to get a better signal (I lightly press up/down on the dish with my hand to see if I get a better signal). Then do same thing with an east sat. If both east and west need to go up, then the arc adjustment needs...

does your wife support your dish hobby?

She took off years ago when I got a P.C.! :D :D :D :up Since regaining my "freedom", I have purchased a pool table, a couple of chain saws, a wood splitter, and now have 4 satellite dishes. So I alternate between hanging out at bars playing pool, cutting/splitting wood (for the wood stove...

have any of you ever seen this?

Another "clue" here... When law enforcement or prosecutors "make a case", they are doing so to eventually present the "facts" before a judge or jury. They need to prove their case with facts. If what they are saying is fantasy, they will be blown out of the water by the defense attorney...

have any of you ever seen this?

Exposed! If this were a true fed who was looking for what he said he was, he would have had extensive knowledge of the subject. He would have read stuff along these lines... Defense Media Center Satellite Handbook (145 pages)... http://www.afrts.osd.mil/tech_info/handbook/pdf/handbook.pdf...

    Upgrading to KU

I got a BSC621-2 C/Ku LNBF and did not need to do anything to my 12 ft. wire mesh dish. Ku works fine on my dish. I've read that if the holes in the wire mesh dish are exceptionally large, like the size of a pencil, then there may be problems with getting Ku.

    just a Idea

I know you have been having a difficult time setting up your dish. This forum would be a good place to ask if someone could help you set up the arc on your dish. You might want to post a thread on this forum saying what area you live in and asking if anyone can help you or would know someone...

    Analog Receiver

With a "traditional" big dish setup, you have a 24 volt or 36 volt actuator (positioner) and a feedhorn with one or two LNB's attached. -Actuator 4 wires... The actuator has two wires to run the motor. Then two wires to give "feedback" to the receiver as to how many times the motor has turned...

    Analog Receiver

Ok, take a quarter out of your pocket and have someone hold it up in the air with their hand. Now walk about 50 paces away from the person holding that quarter in the air. Now point your finger at that quarter the person is holding. Notice that if you move your finger JUST A LITTLE BIT up/down...

How To Start A Small Cable Company

When I was a kid and cable TV came to town, wanted to install a cable TV system in my city, I remember watching the city council meetings about all this. The thing about it was it was a "monopoly" and a "franchise". They were wanting to be granted a monopoly and get a franchise to do so. They...

i am starting to BUD need your help.

Ok, following is a bunch of stuff to learn about. google.com is your friend. Search for the below terms and learn what they mean. Typically satellite dish equipment and related manufacturers assume you are a rocket scientist and don't need instructions. Frequently little or no instructuions will...

Want to get c band...need advice

I'm not familiar with your receiver, but in my case, the only way I can get C with my receiver is with "diseqc" and the first product listed, and the LNBF listed second. Coax "diseqc to 36 volt" positioner... http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Products/M...II-control.htm C/Ku LNBF which easily mounts...

    C Band

I'll tell you, this satellite business in quite interesting to say the least! It is the "communications" business, yet it is typical for very little "communicating" to go on. This is between manufacturers and customers and between manufacturers of different equipment. Besides the...

    Leave me alone! (I'm working...)

Well I moved my big 12 ft. dish Friday morning and got it installed on my 10 ft. pole. And then it started.... I brought out my small TV, signal meter, and old receiver with 36V positioner and set about lining up the dish. I worked about an hour and was starting to get somewhere with my...

Fill 13 ft. pole for dish with concrete?

Food for thought... Tall buildings have a "tuned mass damper" installed high up to reduce "sway" during windy conditions. This can be a large weight (and I mean LARGE), or a chamber with fluid in it. How about this for a high up dish antenna? Basic info on tuned mass dampers...

Fill 13 ft. pole for dish with concrete?

BTW... The jagged edges on the pieces of metal welded to the pipe are there because I told the welder he could use scrap metal. And these were pieces of scrap metal he had laying around. And I painted the pipe blue so that my dish install might fly better with my "female" neighbor (her...

Fill 13 ft. pole for dish with concrete?

The pipe is 10 ft. above ground. The hole is 3 ft. deep and 3 ft. wide and it is more wide at the bottom of the hole than at the top. Also there are 3 "spurs" dug out about 6 inches around the bottom and 3 more at bottom sides. The pipe has three 1 ft. pieces of angle iron welded one ft. up...

Fill 13 ft. pole for dish with concrete?

So that I can move my 12 ft. mesh big dish up higher to get a better view of things, I just installed a 13 ft. 3" schedule 80 pipe in a 3 ft. hole. (There are pieces of metal welded to the pipe below the concrete so the pipe will not turn.) Even though the pipe is schedule 80 (very thick...

    Bsc621

First verify the C LNB is working. I use a signal meter and move the dish back and forth. The signal gets higher and lower as it passes by satellites. BTW for initial set-up, I have a wire only connected to the C-band LNB. Be careful when screwing in the coax connector that the connector on...
