    OLED/AMOLED

At the very least it should make the older plasma and LED screens a better price for the consumer. A 720p big screen with the proper input signal is still amazing to view. I still own a plasma EDTV (420p) and with a high def signal the picture is amazing. The first generation of "anything" I...

Cool, there have been some folks looking for just that type of device.

Need help aiming huge BUD with 3 point mount

If you find that the current position of the dish is close to 139W you could try adding a second LNB at an offset. The dish is probably large enough to satisfy the requirement despite the loss of Q.

    Polarity problem with DMS BSC621-2

I actually have one of these myself, haven't used it or opened it up. But I suspect it's all surface mount components. The 13V and 18V is what would change polarity but don't have any idea on how the circuitry is set for this inside the LNBF. You could try just using the C-band portion of the...

    Polarity problem with DMS BSC621-2

Could be the connectors, or a faulty switch, including the committed one in the LNB. You could always purchase another BSC621-2 for testing (just kidding). Intermittent failures are the worst thing to diagnose. Good luck!

Modded 4x8 switch, C, KU, assistance please

It's generally believed that the diseqc switch should go after the motor, there was an post about this very thing a few years ago. Good Luck! http://www.satelliteguys.us/free-air-fta-discussion/85658-diseqc-switch-before-motor.html edit: or as brex stated, you don't really require it for...

    openbox S9 no network access

The AZbox has incorporated media center functionality into the product. The network component makes access to other data easy, something you need with a media center. I 'd say that the fact we can ssh/telnet scp/ftp to the units is just a byproduct of the media center capabilities... Something...

Strong transponder on AMC 18 at 105W?

I wasn't getting anything on AMC18... But I knew I had before because the channels for both the NBC and Telemundo mux were listed in my Azbox. I found out that I needed to change the FEC from what's listed on lynsat ( 5/6 ) to 3/4. I'm not entirely sure why this happened. Anyway, I get the S2...

    orthomode mystery wires

It is a chaparral. It came from eastern Canada so you maybe correct in thinking it has to do with temperature control or keeping it dry.

    orthomode mystery wires

I'm not sure what to make of this, there are two tiny wires coming from the feed horn. I put the meter on them and there is 98ohms acrossthem. I've never seen a dual cband feed horn before so I attached a few pics... Can anyone shed some light on what they might be for? Did I waste $10 on...

    Norsat LNB Orientation

It doesn't matter which way. Here is a link which explains the concept of the most efficient coupling to the waveguide. Figure 3-42 view C 'loop coupling in a rectangular waveguide'. Figure 3-41.—Probe coupling in a rectangular waveguide

dual c-band feed horns are elusive.

Thanks electson, The old servo motor and single feed horn worked great with my analog system back in the day. I currently use a BSC421 c-band LNBF (which uses the 13 and 18 volts to switch polarity) I wanted to setup an orthomode feed horn to get the most out of my dish, just a project...

dual c-band feed horns are elusive.

So what you're saying is that if I asked nicely I could have gotten the Chaparral ortho off you for $10.50 :) The WNC 4X8 mod looks like a good route to take(thanks for the tip and thanks to pendragon for the details). I'm quite fortunate that my dish is 7 or 8Feet away from my crawl space, an...

dual c-band feed horns are elusive.

I would have "loved" to have gotten one from Impakt but they were all sold out of the $50 dual feed. I checked back last week and they were still out of stock and no ETA. Living in BC, shipping cost becomes a concern. Some vendors only ship UPS or FedX and for us Canadians that can become...

dual c-band feed horns are elusive.

I actually had a very difficult time resourcing a C-band dual feed horn. They seem to be on the "endangered species list" or just part of a very niche market. All the reasonably priced vendors were either 'out of stock', didn't get back to me, or just didn't carry such an item. First search...

Can't View PVR from Pansat TC-1000 HD on my PC

You can write to NTFS under linux, but if you read the fine print it warns against it. "experimental use" it always says. edit: Apparently there is a product out that can read/write NTFS under linux, Paragon Software Group or NTFS 3G. So I stand corrected.

Can't View PVR from Pansat TC-1000 HD on my PC

I'd be very surprised that the TC-1000 would support 'writing' to a NTFS partition. There would be Microsoft licensing issues. Even in the linux/GPL world NTFS is regarded as 'read only'.

    dual ortho - multiswitch

I'm interested in this as well, I have two Norsat 8515 (waiting to get a dual feed horn). I have the Zinwell SAM-3402 multiswitch and was going to purchase a couple of 18V power inserts to supply constant power to the LNBs. This way the LNBs are always powered and with the correct voltage...
