    How do I get started

I'd seriously try to get both Pinnacles. The one for the H-H mount, but ditch the buttonhook and use the 4 arm support from the other, Plus you have spare parts that are hard to come by.

C-Band Orthomode Feed and LNB question

5000 series are PLL. If you really want 8115 they can be had on ebay.

    Norsat Lnb's

You're never going to get the same performance form a C/Ku feed that you'll get from a C band only feed. At this point with all the 16 and 32APSK and the performance demands they impose I'd never again consider a C/Ku feed unless the dish was larger than 12 feet.

70W Star One C4 in Texas

I gave it a try tonight. 70W I see nothing on C band. 65W I see some transponders but they are all weak.

Need SatelliteGuys Assistance for C-band Feedhorn Alignment Tool Project

I have something similar I ratholed after finding it on ebay at least a decade ago. This one fits inside the feed, so I could never use it with the corotor but I may be able to with the c band orthogonal feed I have now. Box says Precision Satellite Service 1-800-HOT-DISH. LOL

    linear/circular polarity question

The Chaparral international feed does both linear and circular C band, as well as linear Ku. Been using one for years to get those atlantic circular birds, I didn't want something that required me to remove/install a slab.

    Ghana tv in C- band

Still booming at 88 quality here in TX. Not a very good channel really, like right now it is just showing Aljazeera English.

Now getting c band on my 1.2 meter dish!

You can buy the correct C band arms and feedclamp for this dish through Dow electronics, and they aren't very expensive.

FTA Receiver that runs a BUD by itself?

I have one of those in the closet. Echostar, Manhattan, and Topfield have also made receivers that will control booth an actuator and polarizer.

Such thing as a dual universal Ku/Linear C-band/Circ C-band LNB?

I use one of these, Rick's satellite sells them. To do the universal Ku on it, the only LNB I find is an Astrotel, and no one seems to know anything about it, I started a thread recently, and got no comments.

    Wideband Ku LNB

Hmmm. Guess nobody here ever tried this.

    Wideband Ku LNB

Looks like Patriot sells one of these too, and it voltage switches between bands. http://www.sepatriot.com/PDF/PAT-LNBWBKU.pdf

    Wideband Ku LNB

Anybody know anything about these? Supposedly Astrotel makes one that has dual LO frequencies like a universal LNBF does. I'm wondering if it switches off 22khz tone or voltage.

7.5' Echostar free to a good home

I'm not sure how it would fit in a car, would have to be a pretty big car I think, the reflector is broken down into 4 sections, so each of those is nearly 4 feet on the 2 flat sides. Sending you a PM with my address.

    DISEqC Motor Positioner

No, it doesn't. Pansat never would cough up the needed info to add their newer receivers.

I don't, and it is all apart now. Let me know if you want to come by, I'm off work until the 29th.

    Max. Linear actuator degrees travel

It totally depends on the diameter of the polar mount. My 10' Unimesh with a 24" would just barely do 37.5 - 139W with a couple of clicks left over on each side. I tried to do the same thing you are wanting to do, first I got a 36" Thomson-Saginaw.These suck, as they are really large so it...

    DISEqC Motor Positioner

My experience has been that Pansats will in fact handle position numbers starting at 1 and going up. It's true you can't enter them from the remote. However, you can place them in there when you edit a channel list with channel master and it does end up using them, the position number I put in...

7.5' Echostar free to a good home

I rescued this from a neighbor's house almost 2 years ago when a friend told me he wanted one. After all this time he has never taken it away and I'm sick of it taking up my garage space. It has the usual hail dings in the mesh and rusty hardware but otherwise all appears to be in good shape...

Just removed mine so I could take the 90 degree elbow off the c band side. Way better, I'll never go back.

    QUAD SHIELD VS. REG CABLE?

My cable run is a bit under 200'. With Quad shield RG-6, switching was completely unreliable. I switched to RG-11 and it has never missed a beat. I was lucky enough to steal a 1000' spool on ebay for about $60 including shipping, so I have 4 runs of it coming in. :D BTW, bury a 1.5" conduit...

    New Receiver

There are some oddballs that will control the positioner and servo, but they can be difficult to get your hands on. The Satcuiser I have does both DVB and analog. Unfortunately it won't do AC-3 audio. I previously used a Manhattan plaza, which didn't have analog and also would not do AC-3...
