Should I revive spun aluminum dish?

Thanks to all for the replies. It's good to hear your solutions have held up over the years. Phlatwound, yes, wonky is my technical term for it being out of shape. It looks a little S shaped in profile, if I recall correctly. I appreciate the offer of help taking down one of the 10 footers, I...

Should I revive spun aluminum dish?

I have an 8 foot spun aluminum dish laying down at the farm. It was the first dish I ever purchased back in 1984. A dealer had it mounted in a little trailer so that he could pull it to someone's house and do a little demo. It had a hand crank and an Astron AR110 receiver.. Pretty crude, I know...

    Free BUD's in SW Missouri

I live in Central Missouri. I`m guessing about 3 hours away - I haven't been to Springfield in a long time, If I remember correctly that was a 4 -4 1/2 trip. Anyway, I would take a 10 foot mesh off your hands. I would not be able to make it "down" there until this weekend at the earliest and...

Digital Breakup on 101 C Band

My Elite is doing fine on all the channels. I lost them and thought it had succumbed to whatever is affecting everybody else, but, one wasp sting later, I was back in business. Recording Have Gun Will Travel and Gunsmoke on a daily basis.

    Ku on a big BUD

I use the BSC321P mentioned above. I have it fixed beside the c-band feedhorn with a homemade mount. The Ku satellites track approximately 8 degrees to the east of the c-band position. The performance is satisfactory. This is on a 7.5' mesh dish.

    star track 400

This receiver does not have any buttons on the front. I have a similar model (600 or 800) that I don't use. You will have to have a remote. Here's a link with more info: Star Trak 400 (TC 700)

    Multiple LNBF on BUD

I have a ku lnbf mounted beside the feedhorn. It is mounted closer than the scalar and about 8 degrees off center. Works fairly well on 7.5' mesh dish. I can pull in RTV at 65 - 70 Q on a coolsat 4000 pro.

How Long Have You Had Your BUD?

Since 1983, spun aluminum with a hand crank and 70 mhz if. I remember the guy that installed it used Gene Scott to get a rough alignment. Still got the equipment around here somewhere.
