    This TV?

I never thought of adding ThisTV to my satellite favorite channel set up, since I always got it with my OTA. But this year for some reason I can not get many channels with my OTA set up, it is really bad since the leaves came out. Thanks for my Fta system being here or we would be sitting most...

    Going C-Band ... Have a question!

My 7 1/2 footer was free and the guy was happy to get rid off it, since it was laying disassembled in the weeds. My 10 footer was $50, but the guy disassembled it from his place and brought to the place where I worked, that saved me time and gasoline. Caution on that option though..... this dish...

    Going C-Band ... Have a question!

First when I started with C-band I had a 7 1/2 footer mesh dish, which was ( just ) ok, but I was missing channels. 1/2 to 3/4 year later I got a 10 footer mesh dish for $50, which improved everything very much. If you have room , get a 10 footer. I tried a C/KU band LNBF on the 7 1/2 and 10...

How you move or Lift your Big dish antennas ?

For my 1st 7 1/2 footer everything was man/woman handled, that was done by me and my wife. I set the post first which is 7 foot of the ground, set the polar mount on it by myself, then me and my wife set the dish on it. Later on I swapped the 7 1/2 footer with the 10 footer, it was done the...

    C BAND DISH ACTUATOR

I am using a 6 wire 16 ga shielded cable that I had laying in my building and I have a run of about about 80ft for my 10 ft dish. So far no problems. That leaves me 2 extra wires if needed

    Rookie

The rectangle thing in the plastic bag is used to receive circular signals. But as far as I know there is no use for it since circular signals are encrypted. The best way would be to move your dish to true south and set your skew to 0 degrees or the 12 o'clock position that would leave the...

    Dielectric Plate

For legal FTA reception, as far as I know there is nothing out there that you are able to get from circular signals. The only thing that you would get is encrypted stuff.

New Solid 6' Fortec vs Used Mesh 7.5'

This was my first free 7 1/2 footer. And this is what I started out with. This was the end result after a couple of evenings. The basic tools where the backside/flatside of a hatchet, a propane torch, pliers, screwdriver, wrenches, paint and my hands and fingers. Go for the 7...

Just Curious: How many have paid over $100 for a "you-take-down" 6' + dish?

I fully agree, not smaller than a 8 footer. My 10 footer is the best dish I own so far and if I can help it I will not go smaller on dish size again.

Just Curious: How many have paid over $100 for a "you-take-down" 6' + dish?

My first dish was a 7 1/2 foot dish and it was free. Disassembled and ready to be hauled off 10 miles from the house. My second dish was disassembled from the guy I bought the 10 footer dish and he brought it to the place where I work, 5 miles from the house and I paid $50. Both are mesh dishes...

What dual C-band LNBF do you folks recommend?

Here is what I done. I installed a BSC 422 LNBF for the c-band dish and a dual ku LNBF for my geosat pro dish. I combined them with an 4x4 multi switch from sat av. I had some problems with the setup because it seemed that it did not work out right. We had some strong wind gusts here and I did...

Useing an old or new scalar with an new BSC 422 LNBF ?

Well. I got the BSC 422 LNBF installed which is a c-band LNBF only. I used the old scalar with it. I am very very pleased how everything is working with this new c-band only LNBF and the old scalar. I get stronger signals and more channels compare with the BSC 621 D 2 LNBF. I do not have to...

    Vbox7 or Vbox10

I have a V-box 7 for almost 1 year now. Electrical and electronic wise I never had any issue. But, the connectors for the LNB/receiver is not the most sturdy one. One of my cat's ran into the coax and ripped one of the connectors off the box. I ended up soldering a coax right onto the printed...

Useing an old or new scalar with an new BSC 422 LNBF ?

I rebuild and set up 2 c-band dishes so far and every-time I calculated the distance for the scalar and I always trying to get it within 1/32 of an inch or better. I measure to the center of the dish and also along the 4 ( 7 1/2 footer ) or the 3 ( 10 footer) support arms to make sure that the...

Useing an old or new scalar with an new BSC 422 LNBF ?

I ordered a BSC 422 LNBF and it comes with an scalar. MY 10 foot channel master dish has an 15 year old scalar on it. The old scalar ribs are way deeper than the scalar for my BSC 621 for example. Should I use the old scalar or should I use the scalar that comes with the new BSC 422 LNB ? What...

What dual C-band LNBF do you folks recommend?

It crossed my mind that it is not the same one we are talking about. Also Thailand is another country where they make very good copies of items.

What dual C-band LNBF do you folks recommend?

I checked the web and I found a C2 in Thailand which appears to be a standard, lo was right.. frequency was right 17 K...70db. Since I only know a few words in thai I was not able to order it. I may give them a call over the holidays when I am off of work. So I settled for the BSC 422 for now.

What dual C-band LNBF do you folks recommend?

Thank you folks. Yes, I like to have a two output c-band LNBF for running multiple receivers on both polarities.

What dual C-band LNBF do you folks recommend?

I am looking to purchase a c-band only linear LNBF with 2 outputs for my 10 foot dish. I don't think (not sure) that I would need a universal, so a standard LNBF should do. What brand etc would you recommend, links would be helpful. Thank you.

Positioner Suggestions? 12' Unimesh on AJAK 180 H-H Mount

Something like that could work very well for most C-band dishes to make it easier to bring dishes back from the far east or west. It would also balance dishes for being front heavy.
