You know, it still amazes me at how good analog SD looks on a HDTV. Just when the analog withdrawals were overwith, I had to go and see TWC SD ITC. wow!

The latest chat log on nps.com states that they don't have the equipment to handle changing the S/R and FEC from 19510 3/4 to 29270 3/4. Sad. And they also stated they had approx. 25,000 cband sub's, even more sad to see the dwindling numbers. Oh well.

I agree. It seems like they have had a message on the affiliate site for ages now telling cable companies to swap over to the powervu feeds.

I just miss how back then if nothing was on a network/cable channel you could always swing up on the horizon and find a feed of another show/sports that you like at almost anytime of day. Plus, the wrestling stuff seemed so much better back then, tons of it all around.

Could this have anything to do with my local PBS stating they were going digital on Feb 17th no matter what? Or does this not affect that situation?

I don't see NPS forking out the extra dough to pay for that extra bandwidth that is ever so needed. I don't sub to the G3 channels. I haven't paid NPS for those reuplinks since they were on G9 and they were bad then, so I can only expect it to be less than VCR quality now. I try to keep up...

Their affiliate site has been mentioning for cable ops to switch to their digital feeds on galaxy 15 for the past few months. They have also been sending out urgent messages to switch over to digital. I don't see them taking the analogs down soon but I am sure it is coming just as soon as that...

I understand your frustration too. I, honestly in my opinion, thinks that NPS really doesn't try as hard as they say they do when it comes to negotiations.

Honestly I never recalled anything on TBS being blackedout. Here in SC whenever the Braves were on TBS and ESPN at the same time on Dish Network, ESPN was blacked out, not TBS.

They claimed at NPS that the 4dtv does not support blackouts so Turner wouldn't allow them to uplink TBS due to blackouts. I would call them and compain, you should get a refund credit for sure, but good luck trying to get through...I waited 38 mins. today and then finally hung up. They also...

SRL is supposed to be changing out that channel for the Miami ABC, the CBS will stay the same, and supposed to be adding an NBC affiliate out of Miami, per their website. http://www.programming-center.net

I don't think the ones that are DCII is in a format for the 4dtv to receive. I think its a megapipe combo mode signal which the 4dtv can not receive.

A&E channels are sent up in a non-compaitble format with the 4dtv. Its also encrypted so you can't get it on a FTA receiver either. I am not sure other than AT&T Uverse and Verizion FioS which cable companies actually carry the channel, I haven't seen it myself either.

When I logged into the Turner affiliate site, its has a big note on the front page telling everyone to install there SA-d9850's ASAP before the end of December. I anticipate that they are leaving analog all together since there channels are on Galaxy 15 via DVB PowerVu. But that still doesn't...

I have a California something LNB somewheres around my shop, I actually had forgot about having it. If it doesn't work, is there something I can do to my LNB now to keep it "warm"? The dish is a 10 foot unimesh channel master dish, the feedhorn has a black feedhorn cover over the lnb/servo...

Can your LNB's on your feedhorn get too cold and interfere with reception? Everynight here we have been dropping down to about 30 degrees and at 4:15am I watch a digital feed on E2, however the feed is so choppy and pixelated that you can't see or hear it. I have moved the dish around and all...

Actually if and when the analog feed of Oprah ever goes away, then at that time if it is a must for you to see the feed, if you haven't got small dish yet... :), then the receiver you would need is the Quali 4:2:2 receiver. I hear Oprah but can't see her on one of the channels that shows CWD...

Oprah is also going HD soon, so the analog feed may end soon. They already uplink her show in digital on Galaxy 25 as well, so there may be a transition coming soon.
