Before I moved my dish I had the the coax, non ribbon, buried inside PVC for 20+ years and it worked until the day I moved the dish. I had the black coax seal on the ends of the PVC to keep out rain. I live in Florida were hurricanes dump rain by the foot, not counting the rainy season.

Advantage: C-Band never gets rained out. First generation signal. No compression artifacts. No "HD-Lite" on HD channels. Disadvantage: Not as many HD channels available.

Do you know if the reed switch is what changes polarity? Do you have the manual for the Star Trek receiver? It should show how to connect an LNBF to it. The DSR922 should connect the same way.

NBC buys a set number of programs and if the ratings are what's expected the show gets canned, they don't order any more. What's so hard to understand about that? And Gillette still sells disposable razors. Detroit car makers produce new models of cars. So what? What does this have to do...

One of the best things about the C-Band satellite is the owners are not tied to one central company for programming. We can consider ourselves "independent contractors". If we don't like the pricing at one company, go shopping at another. If the programmers, HBO, Showtime, Starz! were not...

Nice. I planned to get the PVR mod on my HDD200 after I send it to Motorola for the Starz firmware update.

Can you watch as you record? If so why would you need an HDD200?

So with this mod you can record HD without an HDD200?

I'm not sure what "time" you are talking about. Starz just reduced their price from $185.00 to $110.00 per year for their 35 movie channels, including HD. I don't see C-Band going down soon.

You do know that the 920 will not do Dolby 5.1? The 922 will.

Looks interesting but could you sync both servo motors for H and V polarity at the same time, or does the 4DTV store H and V for KU separately?

It's worth the cost. Discovery HD is amazing. The SD is really good, but the HD from a BUD will knock your socks off.

You do know that Motorola recalled the HDD200's that had the Starz! dropout problem and will fix them for free? Mine goes back after the first of the year.
