Kijiji, eBay, and Craigslist dishes for you to take a look at

They added a Craigslist listing with a picture. The dish has also mysteriously lost 4 feet of diameter.... :imconfused http://nd.craigslist.org/ele/4511211395.html

Kijiji, eBay, and Craigslist dishes for you to take a look at

Free -- Williston, ND 10-foot dish Posted for a friend's family member. Not sure why there is no picture, but I was given one at one time and I could see about digging it up if there's serious interest. https://groups.freecycle.org/group/Williston_ND/posts/40503591/Satellite%20Dish

DSR-922, suggestions for cleaing VCRS battery leakage?

I picked up a DSR-922 on Craigslist today. I plugged it in at the guy's house and it didn't do anything, so he told me to just take it, no charge. It turned out to have a leaky battery in the VCRS that got down on the main board. It has actually started up once and ran for about a minute...

    Troubleshooting help - HITS

I sat outside and played around with the dish pointing for a little while. The longer I stared at the DVB muxes, I could see that the weaker ones of those were dropping out, too. I'm leaning toward saying that there's nothing wrong with the receiver. There's two main options I'm considering...

    Troubleshooting help - HITS

I'll mess around with it a bit this weekend and find out. I'm not optimistic. I don't see why the HITS muxes would drop so sharply over the course of a day or two, with no change in the Q on the DVB muxes, and have it be a pointing problem. I will try, though.

Good idea, will give it a shot. That's an easy one to try, and besides, nothing to lose at this point...

    Troubleshooting help - HITS

My wife and I have been enjoying the DSR-410 I bought this summer, but I've run into problems and I'm curious if anyone has any troubleshooting ideas. I think it isn't looking very good for the receiver, but it's at least worth asking. My system has been in good working order for several...

    Counts per degree?

Whoops, sorry I failed to search first. I'll go take a look. Sounds like my result is not way out of line, anyway.

    Counts per degree?

Is there any expected range for the number of counts per degree on your actuator? My setup is a Sadoun 6' dish/polar mount with a Venture Maxi, and I'm getting about 5 counts per degree, or about 10 counts center-to-center between satellites. This is proving to be a little bit tricky for...

    H2H DSR-410 Setup Questions

One other thing, I bought the receiver on eBay, and the guy who sold it has more units available. The one I got looks to be in good shape and the UA was clean. PM me if you want me to pass on the seller's info. I know that the 410 isn't as highly regarded as the 4DTV boxes since pretty much...

    H2H DSR-410 Setup Questions

Got it working tonight. It took about two hours to get the polar mount dialed in. There's probably plenty of room for improvement still, but it's very much usable. The business about letting the VCT download (with no feedback that it's really doing anything) is beyond goofy, but it worked out...

    Going C-Band ... Have a question!

I'm in the same boat you are -- potentially. I'm going to do some experiments comparing the 90cm to the 1.8 but it might not happen until the July 4th weekend, or maybe even later. I will post my experiments and results as soon as I can get around to it.

    H2H DSR-410 Setup Questions

I have acquired a clean and healthy (as far as I can tell) DSR-410 which I intend to sub to SRL. I played around with it a little bit last night but I ran out of time to get it all the way working (my dish isn't peaked yet anyway.) I have a couple of questions about initial tuning/lock that I...

DSR922 - Procedure to return to service ??

Can someone explain the rationale for this? I don't understand why it should matter. If it is desired to have everything under the sun mapped, one can always MapMaster the box, and if it's only desired to have the channels that can be subbed, you should be able to get that over the air on W5...

    Corotor performance question

Are there techniques that can realistically be used to minimize the Ku feed losses you spoke of? The discussion I recall has always pointed to the fact that you can't have a proper Ku scalar without obstructing the feedhorn for C-band reception. This would imply that we have to use any...

    4Dtv

I take this to mean you're predicting that no one will ever again bring out a new consumer DCII STB? (Not for a moment disagreeing.)

List of ZK/FK Channels you can get with MapMaster?

Could somebody clarify what is meant by "slaving" a DVB STB off of a 4DTV STB? I get the point about using the 4DTV as a dish mover, but I didn't think the 4DTV has an IF loop out. What does the coax wiring look like?

Couple of FTA projects for electronic builders

Thanks! I was thinking of something very similar to go with the Corotor that is on my wish list :p I wonder if the RF passthrough performance of the servo controller would be better if you hacked up a splitter or multiswitch instead of having those long wires hanging out in free space...

    New cband receiver

I, for one, am grateful for anything that SRL / Programming Center can cook up. Any info that you can share either publicly or privately is most appreciated. I have always wondered why the H2H channel list is so limited, presumably a small fraction of the HITS channels on that satellite. It...

    NPS installation video

Thank you! This is a very interesting window into history for someone who was not able to be part of the heyday of C-Band. Their actors for the FAQ part were pretty entertaining. You have to assume they used NPS employees, but a couple of them looked like they might have been grabbed right...

    Polar mount/actuator - arc question

This sounds promising. To clarify: I'm at 91 W longitude. There are sats with C-band transponders with coverage here as far east as the 40's W and as far west as the 130's W. I know that little or none of what's on the birds out over the oceans is FTA, but the goal would be to get as much...
