How Good Is A 120cm Dish For C Band

:up i've got a 1.2 with a c-band lnb on it. It is okay to play with, but doen't really have enough signal to keep lock all the time on the TPs I want to see. frequent adjustment is the rule. 10 footer going up in the spring. GL, Eric

    Can I get ABC?

The C-band ABCHD signal on 99w is excellent quality. It's free, but an HD STB required (I use Pansat 9200HD) GL, Eric

    viewsat9000HD and c-band dish

I had a Viewsat for a while and the blind scan never worked properly. Always missed a lot of active channels. Manually entering transponders will work. GL, Eric

C band Back in the day

Ah!!! thats the one. The "remote" plugged into the wall and communicated with the STB thru the AC wiring. Wouldn't work unless they were on the same circuit. Now I'll be able to sleep tonite:) Then I got my first VCII from them as well. Come to think of it, my only VCII. Divorce will change...

C band Back in the day

The Sky Store! Wow. I bought a bunch of stuff from them. They had a reciever with a 70 Mhz IF that had tremendous video (for the time) I probably paid 100 times what I sold it for on e-bay a few years ago. Now, if I could only remember the name of it.......memory is the second thing to go! Eric

    Adventures in Dish Hunting 2009

Measuring across the open front of the dish from rib tip to rib tip is 10'. See photo. Don't know what else to say... I've been driving by it for years and I always thought it was a 12', tape says different. Regards, Eric added- I did find one reference to a Paraclipse Classic 10 on the...

Questions about 1.2m Prime focus dish

I'd try the traditional flat scalar first. I think the conical was designed for offset feed. GL, Eric

    Adventures in Dish Hunting 2009

Just got done re-measuring, There's no way I could measure more than 10 feet across the thing. I searched back a couple of years in the forum and found no reference to 10' Paraclipse. It doesn't look like it was modified or cut down, all the edges look factory. I'm told that it could be 30 years...

    Adventures in Dish Hunting 2009

Dumpster Rescue I'd had my eye on this one for a while. Stopped by today when I saw a dumpster in the yard. (property owner recently passed) Daughter said sure, we're just going to make it fit in the rolloff. Measures 10' and the polar mount is real rugged. Dinged up the edges of the mesh a...

    New BUD for me!

Found this 8(?)footer for free, just get it down. It's on top of about 15 feet of 3 1/2" pipe anchored to the front of the garage, so it's only 7 feet or so above the roof. Any advice on getting it down? Kind of an odd LNB mount, Nobody seems to have a clue as to brand. Thanks, Eric

Old Dog needs to know new tricks

Analog is almost gone. Look at Lyngsat and you don't see much NTSC. You don't really need a 9200HD to get going with digital. The Pansat 3500 is a good SD box and pretty cheap on e-bay. If you want a new box (over a used one) the sponsers offer STBs in the $100.00 class that will work fine. If...

Old Dog needs to know new tricks

Icebergs's sticky post "what satellite is where" is a reference I use to sort this question out. Can't figure out how to post the link though, sorry. Good luck, Eric

    Conical Scalar ring arrives!

Definately! It's kind of neat to watch it on the spectrum analyzer as you move from Sat to Sat. With the 1.2 on Ku, as you move across, one peak will decrease before the next begins to rise, while on C, the two birds will appear approximately equal when you are between them. As you continue to...

    Conical Scalar ring arrives!

Okay, here's the 1.2m minibud story. With a WSI DMX741 and a conical scalar ring, I'm watching the caribbean nets on 99w at 29-35% quality on my Pansat 9200. That mux holds pretty good, no freezing, pixelization or dropouts, entirely watcchable over the past 3 or 4 hours. Can lock some...

    Conical Scalar ring arrives!

Conical Scalar ring arrives!(Updated to 1.2m minibud story) My conical scalar ring arrived yesterday in the mail. Day off Tuesday to see if my 1.2m Channelmaster can see 99w on C-band. I'll post photos and brag if I get it going. Eric

Q drops to zero on mini bud @99°

I assume that your 1m dish is offset feed? Are you using a conical scalar ring? Lyngsat is sometimes optimistic.

Help keep C band subscription alive

I'd be much more interested in 4DTV if the STB was newer. I've looked at the programming and it appears to fill my needs, but I'm nervous about the apparent old tech in the box. Regards, E
