    Satellite equipment: Sell or scrap?

dbird, There is a thread here " Craigslist dishes for your perusal" that may find a good home for that dish. Scrapping a dish hurts our hearts....

New Solid 6' Fortec vs Used Mesh 7.5'

Those few dings in the mesh can be pressed out fairly easy. We used two short pieces of 4 inch PVC pipe. It's a two person job when it's on the pole or off standing up, one on each side of the mesh panels.Just take it one ding at a time, and ours flattened out pretty good. If that 7 1/2 footer...

Tweaking this dish is defying the odds!

With the actuator arm on top of the angle iron of the mount, it could be binding. I had mine in that position and was having problems until I relocated the arm under the mount angle iron with a spacer between the actuator arm and angle iron.....Ed

Tweaking this dish is defying the odds!

Blindowl, in picture # 4 , where the actuator arm bolts on top of the mount, try moving that below the mount and use a spacer about 3/4 inch between the actuator arm and mount.Works for me....Ed

    10' mesh button hook alignment

We'll put guy wires on this one, but our main trouble is a worn mount. We'll take it down and he can weld a reinforcment bead where it has worn. The bolt was left loose years ago and over time it just wore the mount. I was hoping for a worn bolt, but anyhow, we'll get it straightened out...

    10' mesh button hook alignment

I'm using a California Amp lnbf that I have used for several years and have it marked where the skew is at 12 oclock. I'm going back up this morning and replace the bolt and nut on the mount and see if that takes the play out of it..Thanks, Ed.

    10' mesh button hook alignment

We're using one of my lnbf which has the skew at 12 oclock. That worn mount keeps cropping up in my mind. Think I'll take a look at that. When it's tightened it sems ok. To check the lnb being centered in the dish is a question also.. What's a good way of checking that on a button hook? Thanks, Ed.

    10' mesh button hook alignment

Helping a friend align his 10' button hook. We're at 35.5 Latitude, -94.3 Longitude. pole is plum, dish elevation angle 36, Decl is 41-42. alinged to 174 true south, Sat 95W 4167 V, 6614. Lnbf is a good one, but no quality..I notice the lower end of the mount has alot of play probably from...

    Changing polarity on Chaparral feedhorn

Without using an old analog receiver, can the polarity be switched as needed? It is the 5volt, three wire black for ground, red for 5 volts, white for pulse Chaparral feed horn with a Drake 2766 lnb.

    Adventures In Dish Hunting 2012

johncomp99, the 7 1/2 foot fit in the pickup fine, but we had to take the 10 foot apart in sections, not hard to do. We numbered the sections on the back, so it went back together real easy. Sorry about the delay, haven't been on here in a few days.

    Adventures In Dish Hunting 2012

Picked up this 7 1/2 foot this morning, next door where we got the 10 foot yesterday. I was surprized to see it was a SamI. Anyway, I helped them unclutter their yard and brought it home. The home owner thanked me two or three times for taking it away.

    Adventures In Dish Hunting 2012

A friend and I found this 10 foot mesh last week .Homeowner said his wife had been after him a long time to get rid of it. We told him we'd get it out of her way. Went back today to take it down and bring it home, the homeowner ask if we wanted another one. His next door neighbor has one that...

    Adventures In Dish Hunting 2012

We were out for a little drive Saturday, and about 45 miles south of us I saw this Birdview probably 7 1/2 foot. Well, trying to control myself so no excitement would show I ask these folks if they would be interested in getting rid of that "ole satellite dish" and talked with them for 10 to 15...
