My stations are in three directions and I have two inexpensive directional uhf antennas and will get a third if needed.

The thing is, I think I have to aim one antenna at each of the two most distant groups. The third location is behind these groups and pretty close.

Can I just connect the two uhf's in parallel before the balun to cover the two distant groups and just hope the strong station behind will get into the back of the two uhf antennas that point the other way? This one station is so strong that if you don't keep connectors tight on all the coax it will get in enough cause a ghost image (of the old SD signal when using analog cable) and you can get a pretty clear picture from this one by just touching the 300ohm antenna terminal with a screwdriver .

2 stations, 20 miles 312 degrees
3 stations, 09 miles 035 degrees
1 stations, 07 miles 159 degrees (powerful and directional and aimed my way)

I believe if the air was clear enough I could see all three locations from the mast location on my chimney since there are no obstructions in any direction.

By the way rotors are not an option with the group in this house. Everybody wants watch whatever, whenever.

I hope I haven't been too long-winded.

Thanks for whatever advice you can give me.

Most likely connecting antennas pointing in diffeent directions will negatively impact signals, but you never know unless you try.

You might try picking the three station direction and adding the one station direction to it with a Channel Master jointenna. It blocks frequencies from all but a narrow range so it can be used to inject a channel into a line.

If that is successful you can add the other two channels in to the mainline each using a jointenna as long as there is a 3-5 channel seperation between the injected channel and any surrounding channels.

It is doable but not easy. Is there some reason you aren't considering one antenna and a rotator?

I would go with a CM4228 or CM4221 and aim more toward the 312° heading, but not directly at it; maybe in the 250° range. Test it, but just get one quality antenna as listed. You VERY CLOSE proximity is key.

Is there some reason you aren't considering one antenna and a rotator?

The same reason everyone around here has their own cellphone and nobody gets calls or makes calls from the phone on the desk

(Sorry for the smart-a## remark)

Seriously, there is usually one person per TV and no two are ever tuned to the same channel.

Nowadays there aren't often a lot of people around but there are 9 TVs in the house and no one expects they need to check with someone else before they choose a room and grab a remote. You wouldn't believe the uproar when I got Dish and tried to drop cable.

As someone else here said "you don't need gain" and I **am** VERY CLOSE so what's wrong the antennas I have? How good do they need to be at these distances? And they're paid for.

How much do the CM4221/8s cost?
charper1
Some antennas have a better beam width (reception angle if you will) some are more directional. The CM4221 & 4228 are top proven models in this regard; directionals are great for a sigle need aimed where all signals originate from the same very few degrees of separation.
Peter Parker
The beam width of the 4228 is 15 degrees. The beam width of the 4221 is 45 degrees. I am also so close in that I get adequate reception for stations 180 degrees off from the back.

For that reason while i realize that the 4228 has more gain and is probably better for most applications the 4221 is sometimes a better performer if like me you are close in but the ststiosn are more spread out.

I havea 4221 and get some ststaions that neighbors witha 4228 can't. Of course I live in an area with tall trees and uneven terrain.

4228 = $50 ish

4221 = $25 ish

This should hit a lot of folks with a dose of reality. I can only imagine how much more common this will get as AI progresses.

I read several stories on this and most are clear as mud. They say a lot of the stolen bitcoin has been "locked out" and that everyone will be made financially whole. I guess time will tell if either of these statements are actually true.

The "Secure Asset Fund" had about $1 billion in reserves... in Bitcoin.

The fund started in 2018, so it may take a while to make investors whole, much less replenish the fund.

That's kinda what I was seeing but all the news reports are suggesting that all investors will be made whole immediately.
The other thing they weren't clear about was the BTC that was "locked out" of the system. I guess that means that the stolen BTC is basically worthless now because I don't see how it could be replaced....but there is a LOT about the crypto world that leaves me scratching my head.

This is what scares me about cryptocurrency: there doesn't seem to be any oversight.

It seems more like politics than investing.

Pissed off at the crappy healthcare costs

My health Insurance renewal for 2027 just came in. Going from $827 a month to $1,187 a month. Deductible going up a $1k to $9,350. Max out of pocket also going up $1k to $11,000. Doctor co-pay of $40. Urgent Care co-pay $50. ER 50% coinsurance after deductible. That's all in network. Out of network is double, should it be needed.

Have to think about this. I'm really tempted to just go without now. I only go to the doctor once or twice a year. I pay out of pocket for Tirzepitide and can do without the Rosuvastatin (crestor) now. Really tired of spending over $10k a year and getting nothing out of it.

After years with Blue Cross I switched last year to Ambetter as my Blue Cross premium was going from $1200 to $1800 for a Silver plan and the Bronze plan was still going to be $1300 at BCBS. Ambetter was $827 for the same coverage with a Bronze plan. Didn't think it would jump this much so soon.

I'm guessing a Silver plan is probably over $2,000 a month for 2027.

Sometimes a thread gets so many posts in it that is can cause issues for the server so that why today we introduce The Song Name Game Part 3!

So let the game continue!

The last song was added by Bobby who posted...

One Meat Ball - Andrews Sisters

CONTINUE ON AND HAVE FUN! WELCOME HOME TO SATELLITEGUYS.US!

Here are the original rules for the game as posted by WebbyDude back in 2006. http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/68645-Song-Name-Game

Just name a song title and the band who performed it. The next person does the same thing, but needs to list a song title or band name which includes a word from the previous entry. Pick songs from any genre.

Example:

Long Live Rock and Roll -- Rainbow

Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio

Another example:

Ride the Lightning -- Metallica

Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne

Get it?

An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....

It is really really simple install (no special tools or instruments required and they guide you through using their starlink app and a simple set of instructions.

You can order direct from starlink online or from an authorized retailer.

Not at all like the special equipment needed for a satellite install.

Thank you Nelson,
Yes, I fully agree. I can install it with my teeth, and both hands tied behind my back...but this installation is for a commercial user that will not do it themselves, and myself, Im overseas...

But it looks like that we managed to find someone who can drive there for the work.

Thank you 🙏
J
have you got it done

It states the average amount they are under water is OVER $7,000. :eek

Personally, I tend to be the type that drives a vehicle for a lot of years....do my own oil changes and other fluid changes. Just replaced the spark plugs and a couple coils. Youtube is great for things like this.

I'm pretty sure the most you can get is seven.

What America can't afford is the payments on $80,000+ pickups and SUVs and $40,000+ crossovers.

Believe it or not, 8 yrs...96 mon is starting to become common.

What I can't believe is the interest rates they are charging now. I've got a high credit score and when recently at a Ford dealership I inquired about what the rates were for new vehicles and he said 6.9%. Yikes.

No. Bring in someone new.🤔 Tony is not serious enough for me. Parker is too close to the team and Tim is too young to take over IMO.

I don't think Tim and Tony are that far apart in Age ...

Remember what Tony said to Tim when they first got back together ...
Tony said: I am the New Tony, Tim .... (something to that effect)

Tony has changed, he's been running his Security Business ... I'm sure he has grown up.

Give it time ... your judging the New Tony from the old Tony.

It sounds like Tim won't be around the Team much longer either.

I'm curious how they are going to implement Tony into Origins (If they do) ...
Tony was introduced to Gibbs and the team, on NCIS, which makes it the Mothership side of things, he worked in Baltimore prior to NCIS, NO mention when they met that anyone had known one another ...
