HELL YEAH!! And so should ANY PLAYER being thrown THAT kind of money! LeBron can play a coupl of years, still in his prime and comeback to the NBA STILL in his late 20s!

LeBron James Would Consider Leaving NBA For Europe

Atlanta, GA 8/06/2008 02:30 PM GMT (TransWorldNews)

LeBron James would consider an offer from a European team and leave the NBA, according to reports on Wednesday.

A source close to James told ESPN.com that the Cleveland Cavaliers star would consider offers to play in Europe if a team offered a salary of "around $50 million a year."

The source close to James said LeBron would play in Europe only for a year or two before returning to the NBA. The move would be made in order for James to globalize the game of basketball.

The Russian team CSKA Moscow and the Greek team Olympiakos, which recently signed Josh Childress to three year, $30-million contract, have already contacted James. However, no financials were discussed.

James' current contract expires after the 2009-10 season as teams clamor to find salary cap space for his free agency. The New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets are amongst the most interested suitors. However, no NBA team can offer James even $20 million a year due to the salary cap.

James will make $14,410,581 this upcoming season and $15,779,912 during the 2009-10 season. If he accepts his player option to stay in Cleveland for the 2010-11 season, he is slated to make $17,149,243.

With the recent contracts of Alex Rodriguez (10 year, $314 million), David Beckham (5 year, $250 million) and Michael Jordan's 1997-98 salary of $33 million, James' offer is not too outlandish. European teams have no salary cap, in addition to the euro, which is worth close to twice as much as the dollar.

If James left the NBA for Europe, it would be a nightmare for the league. "LeBron is one of the three or four players the league would definitely hate to lose," an official with the NBA Players' Association told ESPN.com. "If a team lost him or Kobe [Bryant] to Europe, it would lose its mind. It would be devastating."

James is currently playing with the US basketball team in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Team USA, known as the "Redeem Team", is looking to win the gold medal after winning bronze in the 2004 Games in Athens.

I can't help but notice that Beckham came to the USA for the big money. What does that say? I'm not missing the point, my point is that the money is here in the USA. Endorsements are where the money really is, and those endorsements spread world wide from here, and winning NBA CHAMPIONSHIPS! An extra $30M is peanuts if you're giving up $50M in endorsements. I'll say it again, winning NBA CHAMPIONSHIPS will bring you more world wide fame than playing and winning European championships. Ask Michael Jordan the next time you see him, he'll set you straight. You are just arguing for the sake of argument.

No...he came here because he had already owned Europe. He was already recognized world wide and the ONLY country where soccer is not the end all be all sport. And did you see how is contract is structured? I guess not. Because of salary restrictions, he signed a 'personal service contract' to THE OWNER, not the team.

Leiweke refused to discuss the details of Beckham's deal, but league sources confirmed that Beckham's guaranteed salary will be around $50 million over the entire five-year length of the contract. That's hardly chump change, but it's still less than the salaries of a lot of U.S. sports stars.

Nor will Beckham's salary bankrupt MLS. Per the league's new designated-player rule, MLS's owners (who otherwise share the costs for all player salaries) only have to contribute $400,000 a year for each of the league's 13 designated-player exceptions. (Right now Beckham is the only one.) The rest of Beckham's salary comes from Galaxy owner Phil Anschutz. The result: Anschutz is on the hook for around $48 million guaranteed with Beckham, while MLS owners only have to pay $2 million. Don't worry about Uncle Phil's ability to pay: He has a net worth of $7.8 billion, according to Forbes.

There is more to Beckham's deal than the guaranteed salary, however. Beckham will also earn 40-to-50 percent of Galaxy jersey sales and an undisclosed share of ticket revenues. And that's not all. "There are certain aspects of the deal that are ultimately about the upside value of the league as a whole that David can participate in," says Leiweke. "Our partners all had to sign off, and they did. We had a couple of interesting board calls, but they did."

Long story short: Beckham may or may not earn $250 million over the next five years, but the majority of his income will continue to derive from endorsements and not from the Galaxy or MLS. From my perspective, it's a shame that the phrase "$250 million contract" became gospel in the media, because it's terribly misleading and just not correct.

In any case, Leiweke feels confident about the agreement. "This is an economic deal that makes sense for everybody," he says, and as long as Beckham doesn't suffer a serious injury or become a total bust on the field, I'm inclined to believe he'll be worth the investment.

So are you saying the $$ is not here?

Oh, there is plenty of money here....the issue is, over there, they wouldn't have a cow if someone gave him that money NOR is there a salary cap to deal with. Look at the cow people had with the Beckham contract...not knowing full knowledge of what the contract consisted of.

Oh boy...even MORE fuel to the fire!!!

This, however, was the first time that James had entered the building with the locals having legitimate reason to believe their future savior was setting foot in his future home. The game came four nights after the Knicks made two major trades that set the course for the future direction of their franchise, clearing $27 million of salary cap room for 2010-11 when they traded away Zach Randolph and Jamal Crawford.

"July 1, 2010 is probably going to be one of the biggest days in free agent history in the NBA, a lot of teams are putting themselves in position to get one of those guys, they're gearing up for that date," James said before spewing the requisite background quasi-disclaimer on how having the opportunity to win the most championships will ultimately be one of the major deciding factors when he chooses to move on with his life or stick with Cleveland as the center of his universe.

"I don't know. We'll do our best to win it this and next year. Like I said, July 1 is a big day. I know that. I can't sit here and say I don't know how big July 1 of 2010 is, it's going to be a big day, but for me to give to an answer of whether I'm staying or not, or where I'm going or playing, I don't know."

ESPN - Daily Dime: LeBron looks comfy in New York - NBA

Now to not say, "Look, I want to stay in Cleveland and it would take alot for me to leave..." or something to that extent, says alot.

Then there is this story that came out BEFORE the Knicks game...it is very good and it is in agreement with me, Cleveland has a SLIGHT edge over NY in keeping him, I think a definate MUST READ, especially for HDD:
He doesn't know what he's going to do. So how can anyone else?

I've had several conversations with LeBron about his future, and I can tell you that anyone who says he's definitely leaving Cleveland doesn't know what he's talking about.

"It's not a foregone conclusion that he's leaving,'' a person close to LeBron said. "It's premature to make that assumption.''

Money probably won't play much of a role in LeBron's decision because he'll obviously be filthy rich no matter where he goes. Cleveland can pay him the most, roughly $133 million over six years, while everyone else can offer about $102 mil over five. And contrary to popular opinion, LeBron does not get more money from Nike if he plays in New York. That clause in his contract expired after his rookie season.

While as many as 18 teams could have major cap space, my gut feeling is that LeBron is going to either stay in Cleveland or leave to resurrect the Knicks.

Sure, he's boys with Jay-Z, but now that the Nets' move to Brooklyn is postponed until at least 2011 (if it ever happens), their chances of landing him appear ruined. Detroit? San Antonio? Why leave Cleveland to go to those markets? I guess Chicago, Dallas, Houston and Miami can't be written off, but I still think it's a two-team race, one that ultimately will be determined by these two things: legacy and lifestyle.

LeBron knows he's not competing against only Kobe, Dwyane Wade, Boston's big three and the rest of the league's stars; he's got to approach Jordan. That obviously takes plenty of titles. One, two and maybe even three, won't do. So, in 2010, what team is going to give him the best chance to win ring after ring after ring?

But Jordan didn't just win championships. He built a dynasty from scratch. That's the mentality LeBron was raised with by his coaches in Akron -- that you have to build something to have a legacy.

LeBron has built Cleveland into one of the league's elite teams -- without another star alongside him. If he's able to win a championship within the next two years without a major change to the roster, that will be more impressive than any title that Kobe has won, since Zydrunas Ilgauskas is not exactly Shaq (or even Pau Gasol).

One of the greatest arguments for Jordan's Top Dawg status is that his supporting cast, while a perfect fit for him, was less star-laden than other dynasties have been. Winning with what he had was more impressive than Magic's winning with Kareem and James Worthy or Bird's winning with Kevin McHale and Robert Parish. LeBron may be on that same track in Cleveland, with even less help.

Some believe a Cavs title by 2010 will make LeBron even more likely to leave since he'll be able to say, "Mission accomplished. I've brought my hometown a championship.'' But will he want to leave a proven winner -- especially if Cleveland has the cap room to add Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire or Yao Ming -- for the unknown?

Of course, the Cavs don't own the legacy argument. If LeBron brought titles to New York, which is going on 36 years of NBA championship withdrawal, he would become the savior/kingpin of the nation's biggest city. The league's largest market, which likes to call itself "the basketball capital of the world'' (even though it's not even close at the high school, college or pro level these days), would finally truly be the mecca again.

What makes the Knicks major players here is the ability to sign a second star. LeBron was never going to New York to play with a bunch of scrubs. But going there with say, Bosh, would position him to contend for a title in Year 1. Such positioning is an absolute must for him to move.

All in all, I'd give the Cavs a slight edge basketball-wise, especially if they win a title in the next year or two and are able to keep all that cap room. A longtime friend of LeBron's is convinced he's staying in Cleveland.

"He loves home,'' the friend told me yesterday. "That dude is a homebody more than people know. People think he's out all the time, but he'd be so happy to be at home.''

But it may come down to the issue of lifestyle.

"He's obsessed with living in New York,'' another friend told me recently.

LeBron is a fashion plate, and what better place to show off your wares than New York. He clearly likes the limelight and the Hollywood scene, so playing in front of the Garden's famous actors, actresses, athletes, rappers, et al would undoubtedly appeal to him. Also, some of the people around LeBron would rather see him in New York, where they believe he's more marketable, than in Cleveland.

Two years is a long way off, and all sorts of things can happen between now and then -- new developments will continue to reshape the league between now and July 2010. The Cavs could win two championships and the Knicks could play so poorly that they scare folks off. Who knows?

So it's too early to definitively say anything. Except this:

Even LeBron doesn't know what he's going to do yet....
New low power station has been granted by the FCC and the new call leter is K33OB-D on RF ch. 33.

Will run at 15 KW ERP, this one runs from the Westside same location as KWPL-LD a HC2 owned station.

It's going to be aimed at eastern part of Albuquerque, so it's tightly focused beam pattern.

This new station is owned by Digital Network and what kind of programmings is unkown at this time.😎

Sometimes a thread gets so many posts in it that is can cause issues for the server so that why today we introduce The Song Name Game Part 3!

So let the game continue!

The last song was added by Bobby who posted...

One Meat Ball - Andrews Sisters

CONTINUE ON AND HAVE FUN! WELCOME HOME TO SATELLITEGUYS.US!

Here are the original rules for the game as posted by WebbyDude back in 2006. http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/68645-Song-Name-Game

Just name a song title and the band who performed it. The next person does the same thing, but needs to list a song title or band name which includes a word from the previous entry. Pick songs from any genre.

Example:

Long Live Rock and Roll -- Rainbow

Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio

Another example:

Ride the Lightning -- Metallica

Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne

Get it?

An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....

EchoStar has filed with FCC for license and launch of the EchoStar 25 satellite at the nominal 110W slot.

------"At the nominal 110° W.L. orbital location, EchoStar is licensed to operate over 29 of the available 32 DBS channels (specifically channels 1-27, 29,and 31).3 Currently, EchoStar provides service over these channels from the 110° W.L. cluster utilizing the EchoStar 10, EchoStar 11 (in inclined orbit), and EchoStar 23 satellites; and from the 119° W.L. cluster utilizing the EchoStar 14 and EchoStar 15 satellites. EchoStar anticipates that EchoStar 25 will be ready for launch as early as the first quarter of 2026. EchoStar anticipates that EchoStar 25, a spot-beam satellite, will take over delivery of certain programming services from EchoStar 10 and 14. After launch and in-orbit testing ("IOT"),4EchoStar 25 will proceed directly to 110.0° ± 0.05° W.L. Once EchoStar 25 is placed into operation, EchoStar 10 will initially remain at 110.2° W.L. serving as an in-orbit spare and may ultimately be relocated subject to all appropriate Commission authorizations. EchoStar 14 will remain at the nominal 119° W.L. orbital location and serve as an in-orbit spare once EchoStar 25 begins service." -----

I can tell the new satellite is active... When I go to the point dish menu, here in Chicago, 110 TP 27, which is a Spotbeam, for me with the old satellite was in the signal strength 50's-60's, is now just fluttering between 16-18.

Actually, I can't seem to add the locals back to my account to check right now - when I go to add it and I submit the changes, it shows that I have added 1802 local channels (the whole country) and nothing happens. Something must be wrong with their website. :)

I just happened to find out that I won White Sox tickets for tomorrow nights game June 10th. Yahoo! I just picked up my tickets around 8 P.M. local time and it is kind of late planning I know but I am leaving here in just a few and heading up to Peotone to stay the night tonight in a hotel and be there for tomorrow night as well. Its 9:21 P.M. Central Time now. I am hoping to beat the possible thunderstorms and fog early this morning up there and the weather there tomorrow as well. I oh so hope they play and no severe weather! Anyways, I just unhooked my Wally receiver and my DISH Playmaker and I am taking it with me. Peotone is in the Chicago Locals market and with me having a DISH Outdoors account I can change it when I get up there. I will have a check when I get there and I can post and let you know. I can put the antenna on top of the roof of the vehicle and run a 12 ft. coaxial cable running through the trunk into the vehicle. I have a DC to AC converter in the vehicle and can bring my Cloner Alliance ViewPRO to use as a the screen. I may even watch a little TV throughout the evening as well and maybe a little WGN as well. I miss WGN. I use to watch the Cubs, White Sox, and Bulls games on WGN and listen to the news and Tom Skilling a bunch. I hated it in December of 2014 when it became a standard cable network only. This will be only my 2nd time since they became a standard cable network and now defunct and rebranded as NewsNation that I actually get to see WGN again. The only other time was in 2016 up in Chicago as well and they were a standard cable network here then and not available locally. I now need to get going. I will let you know later.

This is really interesting. Thanks for posting the Chicago locals - I still can't add them to my account for some reason.

But what I find even more interesting is that you are reporting that some of the Chicago locals are on 110, TP 12. However, right now some of the national sports channels for the out of market sports channels are on 110, TP 12 as well. MLB Network Alternate, for example, is currently on 110, TP 12. And to my knowledge, the same transponder cannot be both a national ConUS transponder as well as a local spotbeam. I wonder if having both satellites active at the same time is causing some coding issue or something like that - for my receiver, it is as if it is checking one satellite, times out, then checks the second satellite for the signal strength.

No Problem! Glad I went and could help out but however I chickened out from the game tonight and I am back home. Didn't like the weather report I was seeing. Everyone in the hotel was talking about the severe storms. 75+ mph winds, golf ball size hail, and tornadoes done it in for me. You stay safe! I guess it isn't going to be very good and its suppose to hit between 3 and 6 PM. I gave away my tickets as I don't need damage to the vehicle plus with the weather like that not going and driving in Chicago that often it probably wouldn't be good driving when it is storming. I do think I made the wise choice.

I however am thinking about going somewhere over the weekend because this hot and humid air that were having will bring in relief after the cold front Thursday night and good weather is expected through the weekend. I don't know where I will head I am thinking State Park wise somewhere camping in a tent and brining my AC battery supply backup that works 36 hours on a single charge and can be charged in the vehicle and bringing the Wally, the antenna, and my Cloner Alliance ViewPro to use as a screen. Just to see what I can all get and to get away awhile. Where ever I go It will be out of market so I could get you their locals and Satellites and Spotbeams if you would like.

Just hoping we avoid the severe weather at my location tomorrow. It doesn't look good on that part but once it goes through excellent and more pleasant weather ahead.

And on what you said. Yes that could be an issue getting the locals activated that you are having problems with. 2 Transponders causing trouble one national and one spotbeam. Your receiver may not know how to handle it. Seems as if they likely will move those other sports channels to another satellite and/or spotbeam. More than likely the issue with my MLB Extra Innings as well. All these changes coming at once and they are trying to figure where to put everything and probably don't know where to put it all. I am sure it has the tech advanced people at DISH working overtime. Just wish they would hurry up and get it done.

Do you have an estimated date of completion by any chance?

Is ESPN News changing packages? I see on the lineup card that ESPN News is only available in Top 200 and above now. Is this accurate? Did anyone with Top 120 or 120+ lose ESPN News?

I think ESPN News shows "The Ocho" on weekends. Slippery Stairs, Pop-A-Shot, Dodge Ball, Roof Ball, Wisconsin Auctioneers Championship, and even competitive Microsoft Excel spreadsheet races are among the offerings.

Watch Lethal Weapon on Sundance!
America's dumbest and richest Housewives on Bravo! (funny, I never watched Bravo! WAAAAAAAY back in the day because I didn't like watching ballet. Then I never watched it because I didn't like trash television.)
See My Seven Ox Wives on The Learning Channel.
Watch The Fakumentury on Mermaids on The Science Channel.

It really is too bad this didn't happen to channels like TBN.
Up next on TBN at 8 PM, Speaking with the Lord Satan.

Cartoon Network and TCM are the only niche channels that survived the dumbening of niche channels. Of course, there are probably people that are old enough to drive, vote, drink (?) that were never alive when TLC was The Learning Channel.

But even the cartoon ch. has been struggling of late

Curious if you still have ESPN News on 142 right now with AT120 or AT120+. As of today, the Dish website no longer lists it on the public website for that package.
