1080p VOD - Can we run the test free before geting charged?

Hi, I know this is going to sound stupid, but I was wondering if Dish charges you to run the "test."

Am I correct in saying: I go to ch 501. It asks me if want to rent it, I click yes. It runs the test. After the test is over it gives me another chance to say yes I want to buy it, or no I want to cancel.

Basically , I want to see if my 722 with output 1080p to my 1080p tv via HDMI. I'm sure it will, but I thought I'd run the test just for kicks. It then asked me to put in my password so I thought if its going to ask for that, it might charge me. But then I heard someone say that if you click yes, it won't charge you until AFTER you run the test and click yes AGAIN.

Is my thinking correct? Basically I want to run the test for free, and then cancel out of it.

This is Toshiba's response on Dish Networks 1080P/24fps. (My TV is only 2 years old, top of the line 1080P)

Yes, the TV will deinterlace all incoming interlaced signals. This would not be necessary when the TV is receiving a 480p or 720p signal. Just to be sure we are clear on this, the deinterlacing process does not have any effect at all on the resolution when receiving a 1080i signal. Deinterlacing and upconversion are completely different processes.

If the TV receives a 480i signal for example, the TV will upconvert the 480 line signal to 1080 lines and will also deinterlace to progressive. If the TV receives a 1080i signal it will do nothing to the resolution as it is already 1080 lines. The TV will simply deinterlace to progressive. This is a process in which the order the information is displayed on the screen.

An interlaced signal being displayed in interlaced fashion will raster the odd lines first 1- 1079, then come back to raster the even lines 2- 1080. At this rate the TV will display 30 images per second. A progressive display will raster the lines in order from 1- 1080. At this rate the TV will display 60 images per second.

On the matter of 1080p/24fps, this is a different signal than a 1080p/60hz signal. At the time this TV was made 1080p/24fps did not even exist in a consumer media format. Even a TV that can accept an incoming 1080p signal does not indicate that is can accept a 1080p/24fps signal. Furthermore, there are very few TVs on the market today that will even display the image at 1080p/24fps even if the TV will accept a 1080p/24fps signal. Most TVs that will accept a 1080p/24fps signal would still display the image as 1080p/60hz.

I have a Sharp 1080P D92U. I am not certain on this but don't believe it does 24fps (I am checking this out on another forum). As it is failing the 1080P test for "I Am Legend", I am suspecting the 24fps may be the reason why.

Same here.....It fails on my Sharp 1080P D62U but works on my Samsung LNA550

My Bravia KDS60-A3000 Did NOT pass the test with my 622 even though I have HDMI connected and the TV is capable of accepting and displaying a 1080p/24 signal. My PS3 displays 1080p/24 films just fine through this set. Are they plan on fixing this as it seems many are having this issue?

Anyone else watch this show? Any guesses as to what was in the box Gibbs gave to Abby that was on her desk? It look liked it was glowing.

I'm curious how they are going to implement Tony into Origins (If they do) ...
Tony was introduced to Gibbs and the team, on NCIS, which makes it the Mothership side of things, he worked in Baltimore prior to NCIS, NO mention when they met that anyone had known one another ...

This should hit a lot of folks with a dose of reality. I can only imagine how much more common this will get as AI progresses.

I read several stories on this and most are clear as mud. They say a lot of the stolen bitcoin has been "locked out" and that everyone will be made financially whole. I guess time will tell if either of these statements are actually true.

The "Secure Asset Fund" had about $1 billion in reserves... in Bitcoin.

The fund started in 2018, so it may take a while to make investors whole, much less replenish the fund.

Personally, I tend to be the type that drives a vehicle for a lot of years....do my own oil changes and other fluid changes. Just replaced the spark plugs and a couple coils. Youtube is great for things like this.

Hopper 3 with Hopper plus internet connection problems

Over the past few weeks, I have had problems connecting to streaming services (Netflix, HBO et al). When I go to the TV's native Channels, I have no problem. The Dish internet troubleshooter shows I have a good internet connection. I'm wondering whether it's an issue with my internet provider or a problem with the Dish software on the Hopper Plus. Anyone else seeing this?

I have a DISH Hopper 3 (Software H713) with Hopper Plus (Software P15403). I have not tried streaming services but I primarily watch TVB Jadeworld international package which is only available by streaming and when I have an issue, I usually have to go to a non-streaming satellite channel first before the streaming channels will work again. What software versions do you have and what is the error message if any are showing on your screen? or is that Dish downloading logo just stuck and never finishes?

Sometimes I get a message saying that the service is having trouble loading my content and to check the internet connection.

Did it ever work correctly before? Hard to say what the problem is. Usually for streaming, it will show the Dish logo with lines sweeping down to show downloading, never seen the circle issue. Did you try a manual reboot, red button reset, power cord unplug/replug to see if it makes a difference.

Might be worth just to ditch the hopper plus. No issues here on h713

Buy a roku and dump the hopper plus you'll be better off. If you have a smart tv you don't need either one. No hopper plus here and no issues!!!
