Actuator Error No Pulse - Vbox / Analog Receiver (pics)

I have a 10' BUD with BSC621-2. I use a Coolsat 6000 receiver and use an old analog receiver to move the dish.

I just order a Vbox 6 and I am having some issues. I am getting the "Er2" message on the front, which the manual says No Pulses.

Also, on the analog receiver, if I try to move the dish too far at once, like from 99W to 123W, it will give an actuator pulse error. I will then have to reset the receiver and start the move once again. But if I move little by little, or only a few sats at a time, if moves without issues.

I check the wiring on the dish, and it was a little corroded. I re-stripped the ends for the power and pulse wires and sanded them. There is also a splice, but I fixed it in the summer. Could this be a wiring issue?

UPDATE:

I took the Vbox6 out to the dish and hooked it up with some heavy gauge 6 inch wire. The dish was already positioned way to the West, so I moved it all the way over to the East without an error or issue.

But then I started to move it back to the West, and the Vbox gave Er1 and Er2 codes, which are "Over Current" and "Pulse Error" respectively.

So I guess the question now is, why is it doing this? Why does it move to the East fine but not the West? What causes Over Current issues?

I tried various wires for the motor with the same result. Fine going East, issues going west.

Any other ideas?

Flip the M1 and M2, so the Dish moves in the opposite direction it should.
Does it still error when the Dish moves west?

Okay, the first time must have been my imagination, because going East or west it still gives Over Current (Er1) and Pulse (Er2) errors. It doesn't seem as bad going East, but it gives both errors either way.

So switching the wires gave the same result.

What causes an over current issue???

I would hook a 12 volt battery charger to the motor at the dish and see how many amps it's drawing when moving. If it's high above a few amps (3 or so) you may have something physically wrong with the motor itself or gears assembly causing the drag and pushing up the current.

At that point I would see if there is any type of binding in the gears etc. If not tear the motor apart and see whats causing the drag.

Okay, there were a few different issues, but the main issue was mechanical. The dish had some resistance which was causing a bog and over current error. I greased it all up and it made a huge difference.

Also, the AJAX motor seemed to operate funny. It would go then pause, go then pause. I can't figure out if it is designed like this for heat reasons or if it has issues. I was able to get another AJAX motor that looks similar but might be older. It spins non-stop.

Also, the wiring was a little corroded too, but I clean up all the contacts and re-did all the wire tips.

Now the Vbox 6 works great and fits the Coolsat 6000 well, as far as functionality and movement.

So overall:
Clean and grease dish
Check all wires and connections
Check motor. Continuous spinning motor works best

Personally, I tend to be the type that drives a vehicle for a lot of years....do my own oil changes and other fluid changes. Just replaced the spark plugs and a couple coils. Youtube is great for things like this.

$6.3 billion in crypto stolen by hackers

This should hit a lot of folks with a dose of reality. I can only imagine how much more common this will get as AI progresses.

I read several stories on this and most are clear as mud. They say a lot of the stolen bitcoin has been "locked out" and that everyone will be made financially whole. I guess time will tell if either of these statements are actually true.

Hopper 3 with Hopper plus internet connection problems

Over the past few weeks, I have had problems connecting to streaming services (Netflix, HBO et al). When I go to the TV's native Channels, I have no problem. The Dish internet troubleshooter shows I have a good internet connection. I'm wondering whether it's an issue with my internet provider or a problem with the Dish software on the Hopper Plus. Anyone else seeing this?

I have a DISH Hopper 3 (Software H713) with Hopper Plus (Software P15403). I have not tried streaming services but I primarily watch TVB Jadeworld international package which is only available by streaming and when I have an issue, I usually have to go to a non-streaming satellite channel first before the streaming channels will work again. What software versions do you have and what is the error message if any are showing on your screen? or is that Dish downloading logo just stuck and never finishes?

I'm on H713 on the Hopper and P15403 on the Hopper Plus. It shows internet connection issues and doesn't finish loading the various services. I see the "loading circle going around. Sometimes I get a message saying that the service is having trouble loading my content and to check the internet connection.

Did it ever work correctly before? Hard to say what the problem is. Usually for streaming, it will show the Dish logo with lines sweeping down to show downloading, never seen the circle issue. Did you try a manual reboot, red button reset, power cord unplug/replug to see if it makes a difference.

Might be worth just to ditch the hopper plus. No issues here on h713

Buy a roku and dump the hopper plus you'll be better off. If you have a smart tv you don't need either one. No hopper plus here and no issues!!!
