The Salem Costco has been $4.259 and $4.859, respectively, for about a week now.

When I recently travelled to Twain Harte, California, I spent quite a bit of time identifying the Stockton and one of the Sacto Costcos as being the best options for regular gasoline. I wish they each had many more pumps as the Salem Costco does.

I bought a dozen eggs that were marked down to $2.19 because they were getting close to their sell by date. So I hard boiled 6 of them and made egg salad.

Egg salad, lettuce and tomato on soft whole-grain bread with a handful Sun Chips. Iced tea.

Theoretically, these streams are available from each station's website.

Roku and perhaps Amazon Prime deliver may of them as well.

The API has them geoblocked to their respective DMAs, similar to what Samsung TV+, LG Channels, Plex and some others do with the local news streams, and what Pluto does with the FOX Local, NBC and city specific WeatherNation streams.

I am glad to switch from app to app for new programming, along with the better video/sound quality.

Not many care about the Hopper, if they did, Dish would not be under 5 million subscribers and still losing subs, as reported every quarter.

YTTV has over 12 Million subscribers and still growing, no hopper there.

streaming services You need high speed internet costly. Thursday night football i ordered it via Amazon prime i have 80 speed internet the picture locking up it sucks. streaming is like electric car not proven. i will stay with dish network still the best out there. Even dish anywhere app on my phone it looses signal when you are watching on my phone. Not as reliable as satellite tv.

Why would you watch TV on your phone, too darn tiny.

I was checking in to youtube tv. Since youtube tv is one of the biggest tv provider. Looks like you need a smart TV. My TV is a Panasonic 42 inch plasma. Also .no way of channel surfing like we all loved doing on dish receiver. That sucks. You tube tv charges $10 for NFL redzone. Let see If Echostar dish will suvive or go under?

All you need is a streaming box such as Roku, Google TV streamer or ONN 4k box from Walmart connected to your TV.

I cycle mine out every three years or so.

Someone gets a deal on a still REALLY good tv, I get a discount on a better one.

I'm not sure how long TVs would last now tbh, my last plasma I sold was at least a decade ago. Probably more.

Those however, I did love them. The tech simply passed them by.

directv stream has a cable like experience. but each streaming box is 10.00 a month for the gemini airs. that's a lease fee to.

Plasma was absolutely fantastic, I retired my LG last year (25 years old) when the control board died and couldn't find another. The OLED replacement is good and much bigger and has a bunch of HMDI ports (no more DVI converters)

But its true the blacks might not be quite as good but at least I don't need to crank up the air in that room anymore.

Except you do not need a Gemini Air for DirecTV Streaming, a Roku ( or others) will work also, no lease fee.

I can assure you, that any OLED has better black levels than even the best Pioneer Kuro Plasma. And you will save on AC in the Summer, but may pay a bit more for heat in the winter.

Modern OLEDs have better (true/infinite) black levels.Pioneer Kuro plasmas (especially the later 9G and 9.5G models like the KRP-500M/Elite PRO-101FD from around 2008–2009) were legendary for the deepest blacks of any mainstream flat-panel TV of their era. Used a Panasonic GT 30 plasma since 2011. Loved it. Still have 4 pairs of 3D glasses and a bunch of 3D Blue Rays. But started researching 4k tv over a year ago. Finally pulled the trigger on an LG G5 in February
I really love the picture-the intensity of the color is amazing.

Dish Satellite now under 5 Million subscribers/Sling under 2 Million.

With the 1st Quarter Report just released, Dish lost another 180,000, now at 4.84 Million.

Sling now at 1.79 million subscribers, down approximately 190,000.

For comparison, YouTube TV now has about double the subscribers of Dish and Sling combined.

I did a 2-year price-lock agreement with Dish about 2 weeks ago. So, it'll be interesting to see how the price increases affect that. I've been with Dish for 29 years. I thought it was less than that, but yep, since '97.

I'm 12 mos into a price lock, I'm paying $50/mo and not sure it's worth that! Will reevaluate in 12 mos but likely cancelling.

I remember back when I cancelled my Dish service at home a few years ago....they guy looked at my acct and said he had never seen an account as old as mine...he was really shocked. Offered me all kinds of stuff to stay active but by that time I has stopped watching Fox News and most of the stuff we watched we could stream.

I bailed at the beginning of 2022 due to more price hikes and less reason to have all those cable channels showing network reruns. Got in 25 years before I bailed. :smug

Continuing the Kilauea thread in the Pub here. Perhaps the Iceland one too next time there's remarkable activity.

Currently there is precursory lava flowing into the crater, leading to the next episode that'll probably start within the next day.

You can see the pace of inflation / deflation here. It serves as the primary predictor for when the expect the eruptions, which coincide w/ inflation turning into significant deflation and last for several hours on average with significant fountaining.

Now when it comes to Hawaii, that is what is called a hot spot but with all others, it is due to plate subduction. One tectonic plate is plunging beneath another one. That is why you see a string of volcanos along the Pacific Northwest. Volcanic activity means these plates are moving which if a section of the plate is locked, that increases the probability of a mega-quake.

There are numerous other hot spot active regions (like Yellowstone) and many other mechanisms than subduction (divergent boundaries, continental rift, intraplate)

Volcanism doesn't indicate plate movement either, and isn't directly tied to megathrust activity / indicators.
