I was just wondering if you have problems can you call DISH, or do you have to chat with Gronk or Grok or whatever Starlink calls their AI customer service?
I know that was the longest incorrect sentence in history, but I'm old and just don't care.

Don't know about Starlink resellers. But for the ka band broadband ISP's, I think it shows the slow decline in folks having alternatives.
I turned some friends with a BnB on to Starlink some 2 years ago. Nothing but good stuff coming from them.
With (who was it...Hughesnet?). Hunters would show up and after a bit. "Brickwalled". Speed slowed to a crawl because their data was consumed for the month.
And the "go outside and sweep the dish" thing in snow. Dishy makes enough heat to melt light snow. They learned to park it during heavy snow for until it subsided. For them out in the sticks. Before, it was Hughesnet or no-net.
Wildblue and a few others did their campaign in this area. Fizzled. Ka band broadband might please some. Until you actually experience Starlink. And the BnB couple? No problems talking with tech support because so far they haven't needed it. The dude did a self install. No aiming to speak of. Some cable routing. Done. Pay the bill and watch for deals.

I have Fiber Optic for my Internet, and love it. It is based out of Illinois, and probably will stick with them vs. Frontier and Starlink.

Well of course. I think that if a land-based Internet option is availiable, the general guidelines say that is probably your first consideration. The bed and bfast friends live way, way out in the sticks. There is not even dsl over copper.
Before going Hughes they actually used a Verizon Jetpack. But it had to be in an upstairs window facing a tower somewhere out there. Surprise data plan and all they had a bigger surprise when they went ka sat.
I mean options were almost none. Trees galore and a dish way up high to peek through trees made for some creative dish sweeping. I see that they tried the electric "dog blanket" snow melter thingy. It's still up on the side of the home.

Thing is. I happen to live in the town where Adelphia, now Zitomedia is based. Some interesting reading there.
Supposedlly the first place where cable broadband was constructed to service individuals. The little town went from streets rolled up at 9pm to having to put in a second red light. The whole nine yards. Pole climbing training. Buying up and absorbing small mom and pop cable companies and upgrading them.
And then, well. You find out. Don't sign a form if it looks like there might be a piece of carbon paper under it. And don't drop the soap. Tossed the dear old (seriously) CEO in the slammer. A son or two.

What I'm getting at is this place had state of the art ISP. When the cash got tight, the system degraded and no cash was spent to do proper upgrades. They were smart though. Two hardline coax cables with a third fiber strung for miles and miles and miles. Another story. REC took advantage of the rural broadband thing a few years ago.
People went to them in droves out in the sticks when after repeated service calls to Zitomedia never fixed the problems.
It rains, Cable dies. Sun comes out and dries it, service restores. Wind blows, cable glitches. Add your own scenario.
Because it's hapening here. And when a service issue escalates to maintenance. The tech knows exactly what the problem is. One sent out for a day with line amps, connectors, fiber to cable nodes. A TDR with no idea nor training how to use it. Amps (I have one here along with a box of coax connectors) dated "Repaired 1992". Yeah.

The maintenance dude. Cool guy. Smart. Not afraid to shut the dispatcher up. He didi the dog-on-a-leash thing and did his assignment. Put me on the 2nd coax feeder. No improvement. Traced backwards from subscriver to subscriber until he found where the issue stopped.
Thing is. Those subs had already jumped ship over to Trico Communications fiber.

May 9th coming up 2 years now. That's how long I've put up with what once for over 12 years was very reliable broadband service. I was "this close" to biting the bullet and jumping over to fiber. 10 bucks and tax more for the same speed service. "This Close"......
Then magically about two weeks ago when the snow melted off and we saw the sun again. A bigassed truck with a spool of cable and a small crew starts yanking old cable off the poles and well......you get the rest.
The maintenance tech knew the problem. The nasty emails I sent to Zito fortified it. Forty-seven million modem management log screenshots.
Check out FB for Zito issues in different areas of the country. It's disgusting.

Wildblue, Hughesnet, etc. dishes hanging on the sides of rural homes and even into town. Because the cable ISP just wouldn't spend the cash to repair their systems. Nor treat the field techs good enought to make them want to stick with working for them. I cannot even imagine that they spent the time and money to spool out new cable way out here. I guess a few letters to the FCC mght have helped. Who knows?

Oops. Got carried away again. Sorry. Starlink is fantastic. It's fairly expensive and I wonder how they expect to break even when they toss new sats up there all of the time. But tossing a Dishy up on top of the toy hauler and going a few miles down the road to go "camping" or to a race sure sounds tasty.
Or a bed and breakfast who bit the Hughesnet "hook" and found out fast what fine print actually means. I ain't a fan of ka sat broadband.

Huh? $50/ month?

My understanding is that StarLink itself is profitable.

Starlink is not available everywhere for $50 month. When I put my address into their website, they only offer me the $120 package. A friend of mine lives a few miles away and gets all three packages offered, $50, $80, and $120.

Through Starlink's website. DISH doesn't have anything on their website except to call them. I assumed DISH couldn't offer something that Starlink doesn't offer, that may be incorrect. I'm not calling DISH to find out 'cause I don't need Starlink. Just making an observation.

Fastest easiest thing to do is just go on the site and put in your address and you will see available plans and whether there is a congestion fee at that location (usually only if choosing residential). Some places come with multiple plan options others with offers for free equipment as well. Dish will waste more of your time than just doing it yourself.

I wasn't being pessimistic in my rant. Actually If I were able to I would have assisted in helping to find the root cause of the sudden decline of my broadband service. Instead they played Swaptronics for almost 2 years.
Sending a guy out multiple, multiple times to check signal levels. Going to the headend and swapping out a laser from 6 milliwatts to 10 and back and forth to compensate for a coax issue. A waste of time. Band Aids.

Yeah. Foundations move in severe climates. Looking at a generic Viasat installer manual, you can aim the dish at the target satellite and be off aim a hair. Get fantastic signal. But be aimed at the wrong, same frequency transponder for a different area. And hence the extra hardware such as dish support arms, etc., that stiffen the whole assy.

If satellite broadband is the single and only option. DSL just won't hack it (is it even still being used?). Your ISP simply refuses to upgrade and old and faulty infrastructure like I've experienced. Well.... But jeez! Starlink. Throw Dishy on the woodpile and he's happy as a lark.

It was commented something like "only THAT much?". Ten bucks a month. No sneaky cable modem charge (I own mine). 2-3 days for a service tech to show. And if I happen to not be. They mark the call as closed. No courtesy calls as to when they might show.

Losing Zitomedia is no biggie and I'm probably stupid for not jumping the bandwagon to Trico Communications fiber.
Losing them means I lose their email server. Trico offers none. And a year ago I helped my neighbor migrate all of his emails to Gmail. Meaning now he had to go to every single subscribed site and change settings. I told him it could take time. He was cool with that after a Thunderbird and Gmail lesson. Zito does at least allow you to access their email server for 2 months after you curtail service to do just that. The "dumb ones" who have never used an email client and depend on webmail only from their phone, etc. Good luck.

Seriously. Several times adamant field techs asked why I just didn't go to fiber from the competition. And the ISP reps on the service line sounded like if the Chevy dealership (them) didn't offer a certain option. That I should drive across the street to the Honda dealer. Now that's service. Just freakin' fix it for chrissakes! The maintenance tech knows exactly what the problem is.
The ISP. I can understand trying to justify putting a new engine in a 200k+ mile vehicle. Or installing a reel of hardline coax in an area that once had over 50 subscribers and now it's me and two others. Because everyone else is driving Hondas!

Losing Zito and going to Trico also means that if and when, and it will...the power goes out. The light still shines.
Get some pixies to the ONT ( I have solar and Bluetti's)....I'm golden while tossing a few more chunks of oak and maple in the stove. But. I'm cheap. And kind of a if-it's-broke, well hell, let's fix it dude.
It was sort of funny to drive past a country road power pole and see a battery box with a lead acid hanging out the bottom by it's cables. Bottom rotted out. They have never ever changed them anyplace since inception from what I'm told.

Hah! Where's Harshness? We need a little pessimism here, yo!

Sometimes a thread gets so many posts in it that is can cause issues for the server so that why today we introduce The Song Name Game Part 3!

So let the game continue!

The last song was added by Bobby who posted...

One Meat Ball - Andrews Sisters

CONTINUE ON AND HAVE FUN! WELCOME HOME TO SATELLITEGUYS.US!

Here are the original rules for the game as posted by WebbyDude back in 2006. http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/68645-Song-Name-Game

Just name a song title and the band who performed it. The next person does the same thing, but needs to list a song title or band name which includes a word from the previous entry. Pick songs from any genre.

Example:

Long Live Rock and Roll -- Rainbow

Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio

Another example:

Ride the Lightning -- Metallica

Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne

Get it?

An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....

I have had good experiences with Brave but lately I am frustrated with it.

Now when I launch the app it shows a box at the bottom asking if I want to go back to the last opened page. It is in conveniently located and I would prefer to eliminate it.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Please let's not sidetrack the discussion into an exploration of why I don't care for it or a lecture about all the wonderful aspects of the feature. I just do not care for it.

I don't have an Android phone so I don't know if this will apply to the Brave settings on your android device but it works on the desktop for me.

Change this setting to either startup to a different website or a new tab page. I have mine set to open to google.com instead of where I left off and it doesn't ask me at the next startup if I want to open the last opened page unless it crashed.

Hello everyone.

I am new here and I done a search on MLB Extra Innings and DISH and it led me to this forum and so I signed up and hopefully someone can help me out with some issues.

First off, I am a DISH Outdoors customer and I signed up for service back in late October of 2025. I have a Wally HD Receiver and I am using the DISH Playmaker OS 2.1 as my Antenna that operates on 110 and 119 Western Arc and Alternative 61.5, 110, and 119 satellites. I signed up for MLB Extra Innings back in March before the season began. I was excited to be able to watch MLB Extra Innings because I love baseball and I use to have MLB Extra Innings on Satellite DIRECTV back in 2001-2004 and on Satellite DISH back in 2016 and 2017.

I was a bit disappointed when I found out that it is actually MLB.TV Simulcasted to DISH Satellite (More on that later) Anyways I have been watching faithfully almost every night however about a week ago there was a problem. When I went to go to the game to watch a game the game wouldn't come in an I would send a refresh signal to my receiver and then I could watch the programming and when I went to switch games at that games appointed time slot my Wally HD Receiver who lockup where I couldn't change any channels or view the guide and it would reboot. The next night when I turned to a game at game start it still had the background it shows before the game started and again send a refresh signal and went though this same thing over and over. I added a movie channel to my lineup and had issues with showing up my Dish Wally HD Receiver.

With an investigation after several calls with DISH Support it was determined that by going to the diagnostics screen that I had a issue with my Tuner because any changes that I made to my programming these changes would not take affect on the Wally HD Receiver. In other words that Wally HD Receiver was toast!

I too had reported MLB Extra Innings issue to DISH and they created a ticket for it and said that someone would investigate the issue. I too took notice that under MyDISH account under MLB Extra Innings always before it would show that I was subscribed and on auto-renew. Now it shows nothing and even after logging out and deleting my User Name and Password so that I can see it in guest mode it too doesn't even list a price and option for purchase as does the now WNBA League Pass.

After my DISH Receiver was ruined I had to buy a new Wally HD Receiver. I took advantage an bought 2 HD Wally's and added them both to my account. I called back to remove the old box off of the account and was told it was linked to MLB Extra Innings and the advanced technical support team said there was a glitch with MLB Extra Innings and hope to have a resolution in a couple of days and I could call back in to then to remove the box. But both the 2 new Wally HD Receivers are activated on my account. I asked them what the problem was with MLB Extra Innings and how long it would be and I was told there was a glitch as I asked to specify what they meant and got no answer. I again went and checked the MyDISH account page under the MLB Extra Innings page and it still doesn't list me as subscribed and after logging out and deleting my User Name and Password so I could it see it as a guest mode and it still doesn't list the price and option for purchase as it does for the WNBA League Pass.

I am afraid to boot up these boxes and go through the activation screen process because of the issues with the MLB Extra Innings in fear it will do the same or mess up my boxes from being able to receive MLB Extra Inning because or any other programing because I was told that MLB Extra Innings wouldn't come in on those new box because it was activated with the Wally that is ruined and it needs removed first.

Now I have no DISH service going on a week and miss my MLB Extra Innings when the races are just heating up and now with two boxes activated I can't boot up because I am afraid it will mess them up and I will be out the $180.00 or so dollars I made in purchase on the receivers.

Is anyone else experiencing issues with their MLB Extra Innings and does anyone really know what this so called glitch actually is? I can't seem to get a clear answer from anybody and don't even know if it will even be fixed or anyone really understands it.

Now to my previous statement on how I was disappointed that MLB Extra Innings is actually MLB.TV in simulcast. When I had MLB Extra Innings before with DIRECTV in 2001-2004 and with DISH form 2016 and 2017. They would always show the commercials for every teams broadcast from their local market and all games would be authentic just as if you were watching in their home market. After I quit DISH I went to streaming for awhile and I done MLB.TV and I hated their features because of the no commercials, the delayed times of getting back after the commercial break, and not being able to listen to what studios had to say when they would cut into the studios, and always looking at the screen during commercial breaks with a screen that says commercial break in progress and a silhouette background of MLB Players doing baseball things and the their crazy commercial breaks sound. I was excited to go back to DISH thinking I escaped the horrors of MLB.TV. Well its actually the same thing. I compared them side by side and actually MLB.TV is ahead by just a few seconds. So actually MLB Extra Innings on Satellite is delayed from time period wise from actually watching MLB.TV which shows it is simulcasted. My question is when did this start? And is this legal? This isn't what I know MLB Extra Innings to be. I too had signed up for NHL Center Ice this past winter and thank goodness its authentic! They still have the commercials and its like watching it as you were in their home network and its the way it oughta be even if you only do get one feed of NHL Center Ice per team on DISH and don't know which feed it is every night.

Looking forward to your responses. So far happy with DISH but unhappy with this last week and the ruining of a Wally HD Receiver.

I hope I can be of some contribution here as well.

Sincerely,

RJ T.

I have an update....

I just called back to DISH Customer Service this morning. They were very helpful. They said there would be no problem removing my damaged Wally HD Receiver off the account and they did an it is no longer there.

They told me to go ahead an setup the boxes which I am doing right now but they confirmed their is a problem with MLB Extra Innings. They totally removed the MLB Extra Innings channels off of DISH and they are not accessible at this time. It is also not available for purchase at this time. They are working to fix the problem and at this time no refunds are being issued. I am to continue to checking back once in awhile to see if there are any further updates.

Hope this can be of some assistance to some people with MLB Extra Innings.

I am not sure if they will ever get back or offer MLB Extra Innings again and if they will issue refunds if it closes out. They say PPV Sports are final and no refunds issued once the season begins so I would assume to believe this would apply to acts of God as well.

If nothing else I will just have to eat the $150.00 and wait on hockey in September.

I know they are doing some major satellite work - the second satellite at 110 which is now in use, and they are moving channels between 119 and 110. Maybe since there are no other sports going on, have they temporarily cut back on the out of market sports packages? I am not sure. It looks like those channels are all coming from 119 TP 13, 110 TP 12, and 110 TP 09.

Also, Dish's Scheduled Satellite Maintenance page doesn't have anything going on:

Another update....

A few moments ago I was going though my channels. and saw that MLB Extra Innings channel 476-01 Baltimore Orioles was back. Checked the status and its on Satellite 119 and Transponder 13. It was on Satellite 110 before. Maybe this is the issue! With the new launch of the 110 Satellite and them moving things around this could be the reason MLB Extra Innings is off the air right now! However, it shouldn't of fried my Wally when this all happened. DISH owes me! LOL! But I will never see it.

It's great to know I am getting somewhere and that this could be the cause of the so called "Glitch" I would say its a pretty darn big "Glitch" a move to a different satellite and transponder!

And now I wait patiently....

Trying to get use to this forum and where everything is located at. I saw you responded from my post on the changes and took me a while to get back to see this post. But yes, it is exactly what I was thinking. I too noticed the change of MLB Extra Innings from 110 to 119. Because of 30 teams they have to algin everything. Only other sport going on PPV wise is WNBA League Pass and I do not have a subscription to that but maybe some else who has it can confirm what they done and what satellite and transponders they are on.

This is a big shift for DISH. I just hope if Charlie Ergen does ever sell out to anyone that I can continue to use my DISH Playmaker and I can keep my Wally's. If its anything like what happened to DIRECTV a few years back which turned out to be a total disaster when AT&T acquired DIRECTV nothing there changed with boxes or anything and you continued to use the same service but I was very surprised to see AT&T sell it to TPG especially after they had just bought it now long ago.

Sincerely,

RJ T.

Update on MLB Extra Innings as of 5:50 P.M. CDT June 10, 2026...

I am getting tired of not being able to watch any baseball games and having paid for MLB Extra Innings and not knowing what the reason is I called dish back at 1-800-333-3474. I guess after all of my calls my call was routed to the Advanced Technical Support Team. I had something happen that I never knew they could do and they gained access into my Wally Receiver. I was told settings look good and right now on the only channel that shows is the MLB1 Baltimore Orioles Channel. They are playing the at home against the Seattle Mariners right now. She was able to access to that channel which prompted a purchase a Rent option. That signaled a red flag to her right away. She escalated a ticket with photographs and info from my screen to the top tier advanced programing technical department and told me they received the ticket and are reviewing it now. They got back to her and said they would have information within 30 minutes. I either get the channels within 30 minutes or I am to call back and they will advance from there. Seems like maybe my persistence is paying off. I will keep you informed. Maybe we can all have a resolution to this shortly.

I was bewildered with all the new DISH TV "Bonus View" channels, so I put together a web page table with all the info I could find. It's at:

https://anythingpeaceful.org/dishtv/DISH_TV_Bonus_View_Channels.html

Here's a partial screenshot of the table, as sorted by Channel Name. (You can click on a column header to sort.)

One added, one removed. But I think it's really only a name change, with similar (or identical?) programming.

New low power station has been granted by the FCC and the new call leter is K33OB-D on RF ch. 33.

Will run at 15 KW ERP, this one runs from the Westside same location as KWPL-LD a HC2 owned station.

It's going to be aimed at eastern part of Albuquerque, so it's tightly focused beam pattern.

This new station is owned by Digital Network and what kind of programmings is unkown at this time.😎

Yeah, there are some diginets like Heartland, Retro, The Family Channel diginetworks that we already have here in this market and we don't need duplicates, but bring the new diginets on like the Rev'n, Karate Acton movies, different kind of music videos on the new station. :hatsoff2

EchoStar has filed with FCC for license and launch of the EchoStar 25 satellite at the nominal 110W slot.

------"At the nominal 110° W.L. orbital location, EchoStar is licensed to operate over 29 of the available 32 DBS channels (specifically channels 1-27, 29,and 31).3 Currently, EchoStar provides service over these channels from the 110° W.L. cluster utilizing the EchoStar 10, EchoStar 11 (in inclined orbit), and EchoStar 23 satellites; and from the 119° W.L. cluster utilizing the EchoStar 14 and EchoStar 15 satellites. EchoStar anticipates that EchoStar 25 will be ready for launch as early as the first quarter of 2026. EchoStar anticipates that EchoStar 25, a spot-beam satellite, will take over delivery of certain programming services from EchoStar 10 and 14. After launch and in-orbit testing ("IOT"),4EchoStar 25 will proceed directly to 110.0° ± 0.05° W.L. Once EchoStar 25 is placed into operation, EchoStar 10 will initially remain at 110.2° W.L. serving as an in-orbit spare and may ultimately be relocated subject to all appropriate Commission authorizations. EchoStar 14 will remain at the nominal 119° W.L. orbital location and serve as an in-orbit spare once EchoStar 25 begins service." -----

I can tell the new satellite is active... When I go to the point dish menu, here in Chicago, 110 TP 27, which is a Spotbeam, for me with the old satellite was in the signal strength 50's-60's, is now just fluttering between 16-18.

Actually, I can't seem to add the locals back to my account to check right now - when I go to add it and I submit the changes, it shows that I have added 1802 local channels (the whole country) and nothing happens. Something must be wrong with their website. :)

I just happened to find out that I won White Sox tickets for tomorrow nights game June 10th. Yahoo! I just picked up my tickets around 8 P.M. local time and it is kind of late planning I know but I am leaving here in just a few and heading up to Peotone to stay the night tonight in a hotel and be there for tomorrow night as well. Its 9:21 P.M. Central Time now. I am hoping to beat the possible thunderstorms and fog early this morning up there and the weather there tomorrow as well. I oh so hope they play and no severe weather! Anyways, I just unhooked my Wally receiver and my DISH Playmaker and I am taking it with me. Peotone is in the Chicago Locals market and with me having a DISH Outdoors account I can change it when I get up there. I will have a check when I get there and I can post and let you know. I can put the antenna on top of the roof of the vehicle and run a 12 ft. coaxial cable running through the trunk into the vehicle. I have a DC to AC converter in the vehicle and can bring my Cloner Alliance ViewPRO to use as a the screen. I may even watch a little TV throughout the evening as well and maybe a little WGN as well. I miss WGN. I use to watch the Cubs, White Sox, and Bulls games on WGN and listen to the news and Tom Skilling a bunch. I hated it in December of 2014 when it became a standard cable network only. This will be only my 2nd time since they became a standard cable network and now defunct and rebranded as NewsNation that I actually get to see WGN again. The only other time was in 2016 up in Chicago as well and they were a standard cable network here then and not available locally. I now need to get going. I will let you know later.

Take care everyone and have a good night and a good Wednesday and Thursday. Probably won't be back on until Thursday.

This is really interesting. Thanks for posting the Chicago locals - I still can't add them to my account for some reason.

But what I find even more interesting is that you are reporting that some of the Chicago locals are on 110, TP 12. However, right now some of the national sports channels for the out of market sports channels are on 110, TP 12 as well. MLB Network Alternate, for example, is currently on 110, TP 12. And to my knowledge, the same transponder cannot be both a national ConUS transponder as well as a local spotbeam. I wonder if having both satellites active at the same time is causing some coding issue or something like that - for my receiver, it is as if it is checking one satellite, times out, then checks the second satellite for the signal strength.

No Problem! Glad I went and could help out but however I chickened out from the game tonight and I am back home. Didn't like the weather report I was seeing. Everyone in the hotel was talking about the severe storms. 75+ mph winds, golf ball size hail, and tornadoes done it in for me. You stay safe! I guess it isn't going to be very good and its suppose to hit between 3 and 6 PM. I gave away my tickets as I don't need damage to the vehicle plus with the weather like that not going and driving in Chicago that often it probably wouldn't be good driving when it is storming. I do think I made the wise choice.

I however am thinking about going somewhere over the weekend because this hot and humid air that were having will bring in relief after the cold front Thursday night and good weather is expected through the weekend. I don't know where I will head I am thinking State Park wise somewhere camping in a tent and brining my AC battery supply backup that works 36 hours on a single charge and can be charged in the vehicle and bringing the Wally, the antenna, and my Cloner Alliance ViewPro to use as a screen. Just to see what I can all get and to get away awhile. Where ever I go It will be out of market so I could get you their locals and Satellites and Spotbeams if you would like.

Just hoping we avoid the severe weather at my location tomorrow. It doesn't look good on that part but once it goes through excellent and more pleasant weather ahead.

And on what you said. Yes that could be an issue getting the locals activated that you are having problems with. 2 Transponders causing trouble one national and one spotbeam. Your receiver may not know how to handle it. Seems as if they likely will move those other sports channels to another satellite and/or spotbeam. More than likely the issue with my MLB Extra Innings as well. All these changes coming at once and they are trying to figure where to put everything and probably don't know where to put it all. I am sure it has the tech advanced people at DISH working overtime. Just wish they would hurry up and get it done.

Do you have an estimated date of completion by any chance?
