After 25 years I thought I knew everything about DISH. I have three receivers on the 71 and 61.5. So last night I removed a WALLE from my man cave to put in the RV. A while later my wife told me I had caused the BR TV to lose signal. I of course said "that is impossible". Long story short, after an hour of trying to restore the BR service I reinstalled the WALLE in the mancave. Walaa, service restored. I did not install the system a pro did it but by my count there are three cables from the roof to the house. One for each TV. What happened?

Well, what makes me feel old isn't the 60-year-old back I got from working hard jobs all my life, Ironworker, Steeplejack, Truck driver, etc., or the torn rotator cuff that never healed correctly or the arthritis in my neck or the weak legs I have that make it harder and harder to climb stairs and ladders, or the 20 lbs I can't seem to lose. It's the effects of Covid twice and the permanent lung damage I got from it, or the RSV last year that seems to have triggered my heart into racing every time I exert myself (Heart moniter coming soon), it's the other effects of long Covid, like getting winded easily, but particularly, the noticeable memory loss that I should NOT be having at my age. Occasionally forgetting a name is one thing, but forgetting the street I lived on in Peoria 10 years ago, band names that I've listened to for years, etc., or something almost daily that's hitting me hard now.

Yep, that's what I've been thinking for the past 20 years. I don't even remember living in Peoria.......oh wait. And, I just had short covid.

Never mind bands I've listened to, sometimes I can't even call the name of someone I've known all my life or worked with for over 30 years. When you start calling your sibling by your children's name or vice versa, or missing the year you did something by a decade or more, or confusing decades of a car you owned, etc., then you'll really start to realize your age. I've lived in 9 different decades, and it's getting harder to keep them separated.

It gets worse youngster, just stand by.

I've had similar memory problems, worsening after my strokes. I've also called my daughter by my pet name for my late wife several times when she's doing things my wife used to do. I don't even realize I've done it until I see the tears in her eyes.

You are fortunate to have daughters. They can be emotional at times, but they'll be there for you. I know, that is a generalization, but I've seen it to be mostly true.

A daughter is a daughter all of her life, but a son is a son til he takes a wife.

Have you thought about taking Creatine Monohydrate 5grams ?

Creatine Monohydrate may help restore depleted celluar energy in Long Covid and ME/CFS ( Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). It bypasses the damaged mitochondria to rapidly regenerate the ATP, ( adenosine triphosphate production). ATP is the primary energy currency used by cells in your brain and muscles to perform daily functions, supporting physical and cognitive function. It helps with brain fog too.

I buy it in capsule form from Horbaach off of Amazon and I take 5 of them a day and drink WATER to activate the full effects. Like at least 8 to 10 glasses a day. It cost like $18.49 for one time purchase or $15.72 to subscribe to it. There is enough to take 5 capsules a day and that works out to 45 servings in a bottle, so over 45 days of use out of one bottle. I don't like using the big powder forms most body builders take , so capsules are great and very convenient.

I have been on it for 6 months and my muscles are popping and my head is clear. But I never caught Covid once. I have been vaccinated and boosted every year since 2021 in the fall along with my flu shot. I already got my RSV shot last year.

You can also watch videos on You Tube about Creatine 5g and it is full of good stuff about it. You really ought to try it and you have nothing to lose from trying it for a couple of months to see if you feel any better. It takes at least a month to start seeing gains and effects from it, because it takes that long to top off your muscles and your brain to see the full effect. Don't skip any days and be consistent each morning. If you decide to take it let me know if you see any improvement after those two months.

Ironically, I do - 7.5 grams, plus Vitamin D3 and B12, Fish Oil, Turmeric, recently Nugenix, and my newly prescribed Staten.
I have been erratic with that, but for the last month I've been committed to taking them every day, thanks to the Staten

How long have you been taking it consistently on the Creatin? I am curious if you felt any better after a couple of months or not. The water intake is also key to really getting the full effect.

I also take Fish oil 2400mg , D3 2000mg and I take AlphaViril from HFL instead of Nugenix. My free Testosterone was 14 out of 18.1 possible. Total testosterone was 714 out of 916. That is high and I cycle my AlphaViril, Mon - Friday take twice a day and weekends off. I also take Arimidrol once a day to stop my testosterone from being converted to estradiol (estrogen) and CDG-Dim once a day to clear out any estradiol from being recirculated in my blood stream. This helps keep my testosterone levels higher.

Because if your testosterone goes up in number your estradiol does too unless you use an estrogen blocker. My level was 17.9 out of 46 possible which was a little low according to my doctor, so I stopped taking the CDG -Dim twice a day and went down to once a day. You do need some estradiol or estrogen for your sex drive, bones and joints, so like 20 - 30 is the sweet spot.

I'm running out of Nugenix this week so I'm ordering those others you mentioned. Now that I'm steadily taking the Creatine, I definitely feel like my memory is getting better. The times I lose a word or forget a name is getting highly reduced

Good, I hope it works for you like it has for me. I took from my early 50s till I was close to 55 playing with different supplements till I got it right.

The only thing I take that is extra and this is up to you. Is once a week I do take CLOMID or Clomiphene 25mg to trick my body into making more Testosterone. It is used for fertility for women trying to get pregnant and sometimes the doctor will subscribe it for men to also help make more testosterone which helps the man be fertile and the woman pregnant too. It tricks you body into making more of it's own Testosterone.

A great alternative to taking exogenous testosterone which you have to do for life. The side effect with this is your testicles shrink up and atrophy because your body will no longer make its own testosterone any more.

As opposed to CLOMID, where the only side effect I have seen is my testicles have gotten a bit bigger or feel fuller since it is working to keep the testosterone going. But my wife likes that side effect. ;)

I use an online company from Canada to get my supply. www.faastpharmacy.com. Just type in CLOMID in the search bar and it will come up. You don't need a doctor prescription either. I buy enough for a year or 52 weeks. It isn't expensive and it does work. Clomid stays in your body for 5- 7 days, so every Saturday I take one tablet.

The AlphaViril from HFL helps keep my FREE Testosterone up and it is just good for the male body. Sam Robbins has been selling this product for over 20 years and I do feel great on it. Cycle off weekends. www.healthfitnesslongevity.com You can also subscribe to it on Amazon and it like $42.47 which is cheaper than through Sam's Website at $50.10. *Your area tax rate may be different than mine.

The Arimidrol and CDG-Dim is off of Amazon. Just make sure you get the SmNutrition Calcium D-glucarate - DIM. I subscribe to Arimidrol for $23.74 a month and the CDG-Dim is $13.45 a month.

Sometimes a thread gets so many posts in it that is can cause issues for the server so that why today we introduce The Song Name Game Part 3!

So let the game continue!

The last song was added by Bobby who posted...

One Meat Ball - Andrews Sisters

CONTINUE ON AND HAVE FUN! WELCOME HOME TO SATELLITEGUYS.US!

Here are the original rules for the game as posted by WebbyDude back in 2006. http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/68645-Song-Name-Game

Just name a song title and the band who performed it. The next person does the same thing, but needs to list a song title or band name which includes a word from the previous entry. Pick songs from any genre.

Example:

Long Live Rock and Roll -- Rainbow

Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio

Another example:

Ride the Lightning -- Metallica

Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne

Get it?

An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....

remembers when ATT had stores and leased home phones
dishstaller
My Wife was recently in an antique store and saw a rotary desk phone and it had one of those sticker overlays that had a business listed with phone number under each number on the dial. She looked closer and it had my old Radio Shack listed under the 8...she bought it. Pretty cool keepsake. Back then I rented vhs movies as well so I had it listed as Radio Shack / Movie Gallery and then the phone number.

That is a misnomer. In the old days you subscribed to telephone service. That included the telephone line and one telephone. An extension cost $1 a month extra. So that $14,000 over 42 years was for the service not the leased telephone. There is no way they paid $28 a month for 42 years for a leased telephone.

Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson had an argument about who was responsible for the dynasty building of the early 90's Cowboys.

The rest of us figured it out in about 3 years, Jerry has had over 30 years but still can't admit it. It's all he lives for, to show everyone he can put together a winner. I don't think he can. His kids only know what he taught them.

Week Six Balls and Goats and WTH is Going On in The NFL??

Browns. 1st place in the North. Yup. Believe it or not

Chiefs. Undefeated.

Titans. Won a game ! .... Colts I know, but still.

Saints. Won a game after a while.

Steelers. Having the same season they always have. They somehow find wins on their way to an unceremonial 1st round exit. Mike Tomlin is proud.

Cards. Won a game without scoring a single touchdown

Broncos. How they manage to win games with the dogshit offense they have should be studied.

Bears. Caleb's back and so is their mojo.

Goats

NFC East. For the 2nd straight week no team from this clown show of a division won a game. Eagles are cooked without Hurts. Who's not that good anyway. Commanders suck, Dallas is well ..... Dallas and the Giants have no QB.

Ravens. Lamar is out (as usual). But still. Losing to the Browns is never ok.

Chargers. Still can't win.

Rams. So much for the powerhouse team. They are 2 games under .500

Seattle. Lost to the offenseless Broncos.

Jerry made himself General Manager after he bought the team but make no mistake Jimmy engineered that trade. As well as a lot of others at the time.

Jimmy Johnson is a football guy. Jerry Jones is a marketer (hustler).

When I see a football player get a 15 yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct (like taunting) in a close game, I often wonder what he was thinking. Was he thinking, I'm doing everything I can to make this a better team and help win a championship? Or, was he saying to himself, I want everyone to notice how great I am?

Johnson inspires one, Jones the other.

I have great appreciations for this site still being here. It's so hard to find public communities that haven't sold out to social media company.

Hello folks, well my luck ran out last week with a nasty thunderstorm and after 39 years here, finally took a hit. Now, the FTA receivers I had for some years worked great until now. Recently picked up a fairly cheap receiver, online, KOQIT and seems to be good, but for the life of me, I cannot get the HDMI output to work with 3 of my Samsung monitors. I can hook it up to my Samsung TV and its HDMI input and it works fine. The 2 receivers I lost also worked fine with them, so am I going crazy? anyone have come across this or have any suggestions? And, since this is a somewhat cheap unit but works, what is everyone out there using for receivers these days? without breaking the bank? I enjoy watching FTA TV, so I will invest more if needed, what is a really good, detailed unit these days. I'm so use to watching a few of them HD channels. Right now I'm down to composite hookups, yuck! Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Frank

Take the cover off, show me pics of the board of the bad one and also the bottom of the board. I'm an old hardware electronics tech plus a satellite dealer; I fixed a lot of FTA and regular receivers. I may be able to fix it for you. And yes, they got hit by lightning; it's best to email me the pics at diamondsatellite@snet.net or call me at 203-232-8888. I give you a 50-50 chance of fixing it; I do have spare parts. my phone is a fliptop phone

Anybody know how to add "hidden" audio channels like for 101 W Ku or 105W C band on these recvr's? I've exported the database file but don't have anything that will read or edit it.
cyberham
For 105W C, you scan in the Westwood tp normally. Then select the audio channel you want. Not necessary to manually enter. On 101W, you must manually enter.

Now that I'm retired, obviously I have different health care insurance. I take 2 prescriptions. With my old insurance I didn't have to pay for either of them, now I do. It's not a huge amount but it led me to dig a little into the cost of prescription medications. I have been using Walgreens for the longest time. But what I found was that Walgreens price is 4.8 times more for one of my prescriptions and the other is 2.3 percent more compared to the lowest price pharmacy. If you pay for prescription medications you might want to have a look at trumprx and see if you can get a lower price.

I run them through several different providers to see who has the lowest cost

Usually it's Walmart or Sam's + GoodRx

Also...

You can also price them through the CareCard and WellRx apps.

Sometimes Amazon Pharmacy is cheapest.

TrumpRx?!?

I went on Medicare recently (not an "advantage" plan) and my prescriptions at HyVee were very low out of pocket. The clerk said she was putting them on "Good Rx".

I take 10mg Rosuvastatin (Crestor). I was paying $34 for a 90day supply at Walgreens last year when I was on Blue Cross. My Blue Cross premiums were going up to $1800 a month this year, so I switched to an Ambetter Bronze plan (I think that's a Cigna company) for $825 a month. I now have a $40 copay for doctors visits which is fine as I usually only see them once or twice a year, so a huge cost savings. My Rosuvastatin was going to go up to around $90 for a 90 day supply at Walgreens and even more at CVS or one of the local family pharmacies. Ordering online thru my insurance portal from Express Scripts it's $0.74 for a 90 day supply.

I'm fortunate and don't take any medications. A couple years ago I had to take some antibiotics and used the GoodRx app. Went to Walmart and the person behind the desk knew me and told me to just buy them outright....the GoodRx price was a LOT higher. She said they aren't supposed to tell customers when they see they are being screwed.
