An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....

Fill In Transmitters

For years I have tried to get KRWG-TV from New Mexico State University (see my avatar). I could get a usable signal back in the analog days but when they went digital they moved their tower which is behind a tall mountain in my line of sight. I do get an occasional stable signal on some mornings if I turn my antenna that way but otherwise gave up on it long ago.
I was very excited when I read on their web site that they now provide an OTA signal for El Paso. However, when I dug into the technical details on rabbit ears I expected trouble when I read that they are using the same rf 23 as the main signal. Also, I am over 18 miles from the 3.15 KW transmitter.
Sure enough, when I scanned for new channels the signal breaks up continually and has only occasional audio. I am getting a signal strength of 92 but signal quality of only 10. This is with a moderate GE attic/outdoor antenna with clear line of sight to KFOX's tower (that KRWG is using in El Paso). I also tried the 4 bay antenna I put up for my neighbor at a higher 20 feet with the same results.
I suspect the problem to be that I get just enough of the main channel 23 to interfere with the local signal. Ten years ago I would have been tempted to try a higher and more directional antenna but I am a bit past that stage at this point. I also feel the chances of success are rather slim.
I wonder if KRWG wanted to use the same rf 23 or were forced into the situation as there are almost no empty slots on UHF in this area. I almost wish they hade used high VHF.
Do any members know of any area where these multi-transmitter set ups work well? They claim it will be feasible with ATSC 3.0 but I am not holding my breath for that.

I like New Mexico PBS here in Albuquerque, but I've seen KRWG on Directv when staying in hotels in southern Colorado. Interesting that they can't provide a translator here in the metro but if you have satellite you can get it anywhere in the state. They also have a livestream but you can't watch it unless your IP is located in their coverage area. A VPN would do it but I don't know of any VPN's with IP's in eastern NM.

Source for 1.2M Ku dishes

It looks like everyone is selling GeosatPRO 1.2M here in the US. Are they any good? Are there any alternatives? I had my eye on a Patriot 1.2 from Ricks a while back but those are long gone now. I'd consider used if its in good shape. I know shipping is going to be brutal.

Yes. If you have a truck it would probably be worth driving to the SatelliteAV warehouse in California to pick one up.

You will need an HH120 to move it, which is not easy to find. Rick's sells a motor that's supposed to work with it, but doesn't.

Don't know where you are located, but I have a brand new GeosatPRO 1.2M in my garage still in the box. I bought it years ago, and then was never able to find anyone to help me get it operational. Never been used. Have tried to sell it multiple times, but nobody is willing to pay shipping or come & get it. Located in South Carolina

TRG Personally, I'd try Uship to get a quote to pick up and ship this dish. If you can get it done for something around $150 for shipping, you'd be doing good depending on what price cpalmer2k wants for it. Satav/Glorystar price is like $249 for the dish, and $425 for shipping...

Hard question to answer as its based on where you are.

Verizon may be crap in your area and Boost may be good. Or Vice Versa.

I have played with all the carries in a number of areas and in each area there was a different best service for each.

Not the answer you were looking for I am sure.

I tested Boost here in CT and it was Horrible. I used the same device in Springfield Mass and the speeds were amazing. It all depends on where you are, so again a very very hard question to answer.

If you're on Verizon you're not going to have good service in one state or city and not others. I tried Twigby (which uses Verizon) and there was no notable difference. I then switched to Mint because Twigby could not do Canada or Europe, plus it was even cheaper. Mint doesn't charge extra for Canada and it's low per-week in Europe. I was a little concerned at first, as even though the service was strong everywhere I went, it was down to 1 bar at home...But within a few months that resolved. I've never had any issue with it, anywhere. I think it's like $15/mo. and I get an annual-buy discount. Gov't might as well just give us free service...but that's for those who don't use a lot of data, like watching videos. I've never hit a limit. You can buy higher limits and still likely come out cheaper than verizon.

That's because the one good thing the administration is doing is finally going after the fake and non-domiciled CDL drivers, opening the door to hire more valid drivers and hopefully will push the rates back up.

now let's get rid of the piss tanks and tampons off of diesels aka emissions crap since it can bankrupt someone!!! and get rid of ELD'S since they make some drivers drive like idiots trying to find a parking spot. starter mega carriers should not allow new drivers to train that's just a way for em to move cheap freight..

I thought about just buying my own, but goddang. I bought a nice 2000 W900L in 2004 for $52K. New they were just over 100K. Now, a new KW W990 is over $300,000.00
I couldn't afford a new one, but used truck prices are just as crazy

We have started cycling out our fleet, day cabs, but even those are sickeningly high compared to a few years ago.

Second of the crew was delivered today. First was crimson. This on is grey. On down the line we will go until replaced.

I'm with Sling now and they were offering discounted service with Boost Mobile. I'm currently paying $15.10 a month for 30 GB of premium data. It's a significant discount with a slight slow down in certain locations. I was with T-Mobile. Their service was slightly better, but not worth the significant price increase.

The writing was quite awful on that one. We've got these astronomy geniuses not grabbing the whole fifth planet thing. I think it would have been a much better episode (series of episodes) had they been stuck there for a while.

Soap Opera Legend, can't believe she's 78.

She's been on Days of our Lives for 50 years. Mom used to record it to VHS all week and watch it a day or two later. It went digital only and forced her to learn how to use streaming apps.

I watched some of the OKC Texas game on dvr this afternoon while visiting my mom. I had set it to record the season for her, but she has trouble with using the dvr and barely can use the live guide. Usually softball is the first suggestion YTTV puts up when she clicks the tile though, so it works well enough for her.

Setting up YTTV dvr for little league softball for my mom to watch. Watched the local Tulsa girls representing Oklahoma this morning on espn plus. Unfortunately espn plus is a little more difficult for my mom to navigate. YTTV it usually puts the dvr recordings up as the first suggestion for her, so she can navigate it a little easier.
