Good Golly Miss Molly!!! With the latest release my 811 hangs up 5 times as much as before!!! Sometimes the menu works and sometimes it does not. And after reading several different post here I am beginning to believe that ABC OTA digital stations have their own inherent problems. Seems like alot of people around the country are having problems locking onto and staying locked to ABC!

Let's all pray, "Dear Software god--please allow the next upgrade for my 811 to actually do something visable and not hurt my 811 anymore. Please, let the Great Programmers at Dish Betwork check out the other functions of the 811 before saying that they have fixed another problem while creating a new one! And please, give the Omnipotent Charlie eyes with which to see -- that there indeed is other viable HD programming out there that we -- the lowly providers of his immense wealth are worthy of watching and would be greatful for new HD programing. Oh, and just one more thing-- Great Software god -- please give those of us who purchase a HD receiver intending to watch analog OTA better eyesight so that they can see brighter pictures on their TV's -- if even for only two more years as you have determined that analog must go! Amen!! ;)

The last post by kevin is absoloutly true I can go up into my attic and re-posistion the antenna and pull a 80% signal and it stays but I have to move it to get my other OTA channel. I've noticed if you dont get a steady at least 74% signal it wont stay in.

there's no question the 811 OTA tuning is flakey, but whether it's a result of the 265 update or a miraculous and subtle movement of the foliage around my place, my OTA tuning has been *much* better since 265. i've got 2 other HD tuners all connected to the same rooftop antenna, so i have a decent basis for comparison, and the 811 has gone from by FAR the worst of the 3 to just barely the worst. I haven't seen the 49% problem since the day 265 came through.

This post was started about the 264 release being a problem. I am banking on foliage as the reason for improvement.
I like your comparison- from absolutely the worst to just the worst :)

I repositioned my antenna to the outdoors and 10' higher. I now receive all but one station but have noticed a marked differance in how the 811 locks. Now the 811 locks on very quickly but for some reason the signals that are in the 65 to 75 range seem to lock and hold but the signals in the 75 to 85 range will lock and then fall out after awhile and then lock again. This seems to agree with some posts here where the 811 does a good job with weaker signals and still has problems discerning the strong signals. I have read where the next upgrade sometime towards the end of April will deal more directly with the 811 locking software and the dark output--lets hope so!

Having owned a 6000 for nearly 4 years and the 8VSB module for around 3, I'd say the 811 is on par with the 6000's ATSC performance. I also have a Mitsubishi WS-55613 that includes an ATSC tuner. I see very little difference in the tuning capabilities between the three sets. My problem station is at a high frequency (58) and low power (around 10kW). When the wind starts blowing the trees around, the picture and audio on this station breaks up, doesn't matter which tuner I'm looking at.

Sometimes a thread gets so many posts in it that is can cause issues for the server so that why today we introduce The Song Name Game Part 3!

So let the game continue!

The last song was added by Bobby who posted...

One Meat Ball - Andrews Sisters

CONTINUE ON AND HAVE FUN! WELCOME HOME TO SATELLITEGUYS.US!

Here are the original rules for the game as posted by WebbyDude back in 2006. http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/68645-Song-Name-Game

Just name a song title and the band who performed it. The next person does the same thing, but needs to list a song title or band name which includes a word from the previous entry. Pick songs from any genre.

Example:

Long Live Rock and Roll -- Rainbow

Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio

Another example:

Ride the Lightning -- Metallica

Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne

Get it?

An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....

I'm getting fabulous picture on Ch. 148 4k, but zero audio with H713. This is with a recorded show (Notre Dame game). Anyone else have this? Audio is fine on every other channel.

It's a known issue.
For a temporary fix, go into the menu, Audio, and turn Dolby Audio "OFF". You will have PCM stereo audio.

I was able to give the tech ops team some data logs so they could diagnose the problem, and they rolled me back to H708 temporarily. It fixed that issue.

They let me know that they understand what caused the issue, and it will be fixed within a few weeks in a new update.

I guess they will be busy when lots of people start asking for rollbacks to H708 now that you mention that downgrades of software does exist because it will likely fix the OTA Single Tuner and the IR Remote problems in H710-H713.

it will likely fix the OTA Single Tuner

Stargate SG-1 cancelled, Atlantis renewed

The future of Stargate is in question today, as SCI FI Channel has cancelled the long-running Stargate SG-1, Multichannel News reported today and a GateWorld source has confirmed. The news regrettably follows the airing of the show's milestone two-hundredth episode on Friday.

Stargate Atlantis, meanwhile, has been renewed for a fourth season, with the network hoping to see that the spin-off series can stand alone, according to a source.

I have gotten back into watching SG-1 and I have recorded most of the episodes to binge watch. What episodes are about the Antarctic or was this a movie? Also where could I watch the SG-1 movies?

Well, there are a couple involving the Antarctic. "Solitudes", S1 E17 (one of my favorites), Then, "Lost City', S7 E21 and E22. Then, in the SGA pilot, "Rising", S1 E1 and E2, it starts out in the Antarctic for about the first 20 minutes or so.

Which one has O'Neil being Ancients? I am at the end of Season 8 now.

If I understand your question, O'Neill had the Ancient's knowledge in the "Lost City" two-part episode. That was when Anubis attacked Earth and there was a big battle over Antarctica.
