Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum and was hoping someone could give me some advice on an installation problem I am having.
I currently live in an apartment building that does not allow you to drill into the outer brick walls of the building to install a dish. The dish can be mounted any other way so long as you are not drilling into or damaging building property.
My apartment is in the corner of the building, so that my balcony faces one direction and my window is on another "side" of the building, facing a different direction.
The installer from DirecTV came the other day and was very unhelpful. He basically set one foot in my apartment, looked out my balcony and said "you're facing the wrong way" and therefore there was no line of site. I asked him to at least check out my windows, and sure enough when he checked he noted that there was in fact a line of site from my windows. However, he stated there was no way to mount the dish to the window so it couldn't be done. There are thin iron bars on my window, but he stated that there is no equipment that could clamp the dish (which would be the HD dish which I hear is pretty large) to the window and that nothing else could be done.
I then asked him to look again at my balcony, which even though it faces the wrong direction, since I'm in the corner of the building perhaps the dish could be mounted on a horizontal extension off the balcony so that it could face the opposite way (meaning angled towards the building, but it would face the sky since I'm at the corner of the building).
he wouldn't even look out there, saying there was no chance.
Now, is he correct? Or is there some way I could either mount it to the thin iron bars of my window or have some sort of horizontal extension off my balcony so that it could be positioned in the right direction?
I was surprised to see that they really made little effort to set me up and get my business.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

About 10 years ago I installed a Turbo HD dish with a DP Plus LNB to the eastern arc and have been receiving 72.7 and 61.5 all those years.
Recently I needed to move the dish to a light pole about 20' away and now can not get both satellites to work at the same time. I can get either to work, but not both.
In the beginning of time, I used to install Direct and Dish back when there was only one satellite for each company so small incremental dish movements are second nature.
I found a previous post entitled "1000.4 dish dpp lnb eastern arc" and tried aligning with aluminum foil over the outer feedhorns since a posted picture shows the center feedhorn to be the 72.7. Using that method, I didn't get a signal from any satellite. My direct single coax cable is connected to the #1 F connector. It's kind of confusing when the picture on the post show each LNB F connector has a specific satellite. I thought F connector #1 was the one to use with a single receiver.
Removing all foil and I can get 61.5 or 72.7 but not both. I have done multiple check switch tests and only one or the other satellite is displayed.
So 10 years later, what have I forgotten to do that was so easy back then?

CBS's long-running reality hit Big Brother has always been a warts-and-all kind of TV show. But starting this month, you'll be able to see contestants' blemishes, their well-sculpted bodies, and Julie Chen's body glitter more clearly than ever: Vulture has learned that Big Brother, the only regularly scheduled primetime program still shown in standard definition, will finally convert to HDTV when it debuts its 16th season on June 25. While 99.9 percent of primetime shows made the leap to high definition years ago, Big Brother has remained a bit fuzzier, its old-school production style increasingly noticeable as viewers' eyeballs adjusted to the new standard of HD seen all over the dial. Big Brother didn't stay SD out of nostalgia or some Luddite-like opposition to newfangled tech, however. "We've all wanted to go digital," executive producer Allison Grodner told us. So why the delay? It's complicated — literally.
Unlike most scripted and even most studio-based reality shows, Big Brother doesn't just record its cast with a few stationary cameras, edit it over the course of a few days, and then send it along to viewers. The show locks a group of strangers into a specially constructed house built on the CBS Radford Studio lot near Hollywood, films them around the clock, and then turns it all into three one-hour shows, airing each week in near-real time. In order to capture all that backstabbing and Game of Thrones–worthy maneuvering, the Big Brother house is packed with dozens of cameras — fixed and robotic, inside and outside — which collectively record thousands of hours of footage each week. Doing all of this with traditional SD cameras has always been a massive undertaking; transitioning the process from analog to digital required an equally monumental (and costly) effort. "It's not just about swapping out cameras," explains Rich Meehan, who exec-produces Brother alongside Grodner. "Everything had to be changed ... and we couldn't do anything that would jeopardize production of the series."
While the biggest change viewers will see will obviously be that images from the Big Brother house (and Chen's studio set) will now be in crisp high-definition, the new setup will be felt in other ways. "We've added 11 new cameras in the house for better coverage," Meehan says, including some outside and in certain inside rooms and corridors. "We've also lowered some of the cameras so viewers are in the action more." And because HDTV uses a different aspect ratio — 16:9 — the show's camera operators now have many more angles and shots to play with than they did before. "You can now see from the kitchen area to the bedroom in one shot," Meehan says. "It changes the whole look of the house." Grodner says she's looking forward to testing out what she calls her new "high-performance machine," and that even the show's production designers are making tweaks to the set because of HD: "We're mindful of color and texture more," she says. "We're making sure there are layers and dimension to the house." And folks who subscribe to the 24/7 live feed of the show will also benefit. "It'll be a noticeable improvement for the internet viewers," Crivelli says.

This week I am going to look into adding IPV6 support on our server. Since we moved to this server last year we have had IPV6 addresses available to us, but I have never used them.
While IPV4 works fine we should probably support both standards.
I am posting this now in case I screw something up, so later in the week when I activate IPV6 if it messes something up people will know why. And I have setup a special email address of ipv6 @ satelliteguys . us (Remove the spaces) for people to report any issues to me.
This work will happen mid week sometime, and I will update this post before I do anything.

Directv stream making me angry
Trying to watch the NASCAR race and when TNT 'goes to commercials' they overlay some stupid 'local' commercials. Yes all I have to do is switch channels and go back to the regular feed but the issue is Directv isn't 'going to commercials'.
Yes they are showing commercials but they are doing the split screen so you can still see the race just not hear the audio.
I get they (TNT) like to give you 'local commercial crap' but don't do it during the race when it's a split screen!!!

Really liking this one, probably because I really like Rebecca Ferguson. It has an excellent cast, including Will Patton. Lots of shrouded mystery. Episode 3 was a real nail biter. I never read the book series, so I can't give any comparisons.
