A lot of these were from overnight last night...

I came home awhile ago and noticed the dish that does the uplink report was covered and coated in snow. It was so hard that I had a hard time chipping it off the LNB and DISH. I think in the process of clearing off the dish I may have moved it just slightly. I will have to check it with the meter in the morning.

Thanks Scott. One wonders what Dish is up to with all these SD channel moves. IMHO they're all a waste of bandwidth for those of us with HD. Although, speaking of snow, I did have an event last week that made my SS marginal on HD transponders, and my VIP receivers switched over to the equivalent SD channel just fine. Also surprised at use of only 2 transponders for so many SD channels.

Sorry, I am not versed enough to know this, but does this mean for Eastern Arc it would be possible for all those channels to be removed as SD channels leaving only the HD version (assuming these channels have or will have HD versions). All receivers on Eastern Arc would be fine downconverting to SD if the customer only had an SD set? I know that in my market, only HD locals exist.

For my father in laws 90th birthday, my wife and her siblings upgraded his main tv to an LG 42 inch hd tv. He and his wife had upgraded their kitchen tv to hd already.
BTW, he is still working as a self employed plumber on the island of Nantucket.

I prefer HD, but if a program that was originally shot in SD 4x3 is being broadcast in HD and the image is artificially stretched to 16x9 wide with no way to fix it on my end, I would rather watch the proper aspect ratio in SD than an HD variety distorted.
