and it is in the 500s which is all PPV movies....

The PPV movies seem to end at 535 so maybe DISH has decided to put 4K channels starting at 540, kind of like they had HD in I think it was the 9000's in the beginning. Maybe? :)

Then switch to Directv Blugras.

Other then the live events the rest of just repetitive filler that is worse than Voom was.

no i am not switching to directv scott i love my hopper 3 dvr i just wish dish would start working on 4k channels for us who have hopper 3 dvr then why does dish advertise that the hopper 3 dvr does 4k since many folks are now getting 4ktvs.

There is 4K VOD and soon for those without broadband it appears there will be a 4K PPV channel.

Unlike DIRECTV dish does not produce their own programming. I would imagine it costs DIREcTV a lot to make some of those shows.

I haven't seen anything that DIRECTV has made that's specific for the channel 104 4K channel. Unless I've missed it they are showing either documentaries that were already made or IMAX shows that were already in 4K, or programming that also is shown on the Audience channel that also happens to be shot in 4K.

Almost all the stuff on the Audience Network is produced (or funded by DIRECTV).

On the 4K channel shows like the Guitar center shows are produced for DIRECTV. (Man I would love to be at one of those tapings!)

That I knew, your prior response made it sound like DIRECTV was producing all the 4K programming.

It is ironic that Dish's hardware is better suited to 4K (Hopper 3 does native 4k output). When I had Direct TV, I needed a C61 (like a 4k Joey) and an HR54 to view 4k programming. Yet Directv has better offerings than just VOD (Baseball, now Premier League, etc.). I don't want to switch back, but you have to admit Dish is a bit behind in the 4k programming.
