Has anyone tried using a 1000.4 just for a single slot (With a dishpro single), such as 61.5? I question whether it'd work better than the Dish 500 but I have the 1000.4 kicking around and my 61.5 signal could be better here. The 1000.4 was a big disappointment as-is here in Central Maine.

My 110/119 doesn't go out during storms, but the HD dish does a little bit.

Thanks in advance.

If you really want reliability go with a 24" dish for 61.5. Imo the 500 would be a better option than the 1000.4 & the 24" dish is better yet.

haven't tried since NIMIQ5 went up but the signal strengths relative to what I get with my 110/119 and 61.5 dual dish setup was dramatic. I eventually pulled the 1000.4 down and installed a dual 500 setup at my brothers (this was about a year ago). 1000.4 just sits here looking pretty.

Unless Dish put my HD locals on the EA (which I don't think they will since EA signals are worse north of me and they're part of my market), I've not much interest in messing around with EA.

Southern Mainers seem to use the 1000.4 alright. I don't think anyone installs them up here. Every install I've seen is a dual dish WA setup.

72.7 sat is great for signal strength in southeast texas where I am located. I am getting anywhere from a low of 60 - high of 70 on the 1000.4 sat dish. Barely ever lose signal strength unless it's raining really, really, hard. As for the 61.5 sat using the same 1000.4 sat dish , I am getting anywhere from a low of 43 on two of the transponders to a high of 70. About the same signal strength I got from a dish 500 used for just 61.5. On the 77 sat I am getting a low of 50 to a high of 56. But just in case I backed it up with a 1000.2 sat dish for just 110 sat . It backs up my Hd locals for Houston , since I have them on 61.5 as well. I get about a 45 strength on the spotbeam on 61.5 and a50 strength on 110 sat. It also can back up any channels off of 77 if it goes down because of rain fade. I get about a low of 52 and a high of 73 on the 110 sat .

That satellite is weak and always has been. Try a super dish, it has awesome gain and will stop drop outs.
