Well in the process they messed up EPIX for Alaska. Only ones showing in the guide now are in the 9xxx numbers, and I get a popup that those channels are not available in my area. Time to call and drop EPIX.

I live in Anchorage and I was able to connect on my iPad from work and watch EPIX1 on 5557, 380 does not work yet.

Not even in the 5500 range? According to the uplink they were just mapped down and the original channels should still be there. They still show up in the guide on my iPad and I'm able to watch them.

I ran a check switch and it shows green on 110 and 119. Yellow on 129 (spot beam). Waiting for guide to reload to see if they show up now.

I will give Dish their props....they beat Directv and now carry all four PBS stations licensed in the Minneapolis DMA.....and in HD.
Both of those are in the "outer" areas of the market but are classified as the Mpls DMA. What makes it cool is satellite you get those 2 + the 2 from Minneapolis. On cable they mainly stick to one PBS (western Minnesota gets KWCM, northern get KAWB)

Well, today, channels 380 to 382 and 385 says they are not available in my area. Yesterday they were fine. I can get EPIX and MGM on the 5xxx channels. Strange that it changes daily.

Maybe they are moving past the Blockbuster thing now that they have added Netflix to the hopper. That and the fact that after DISH bought Blockbuster they helped stear it to it's final death.

Taking Blockbuster out of the name is more than a callsign change. It would appear to be a different direction with respect to the Blockbuster trade name.

My question about when the change happened remains.

I haven't switched over there since the uplink a few weeks ago. Is Blockbuster really completely removed?
