2 TUNER prob with Separator & DPP 44

Hello:



Equipment

• Dish 1000 plus 110, 118, 119. 129
• DPP 44 Switch (with Power inserter)
• 2 VIP 612 receivers
• 2 Separators (1 on the back of each VIP 612)

I mounted and pointed the 1000 plus today with DPP 44 switch conected to VIP 612 receiver.

THE PROBLEM

Check switch through the Separator sees all 4 Sats on tuner 1. However errors occur on the second tunner


Someone please tell me what I am doing wrong.

Before you can do a check switch test make sure that the power pak is attached to the first receiver and the first output at the DPP44 switch. Then, do a hard restart on both receivers. Then, re-do check switch.

Power inserter is needed on a dish 1000+ with a DP44 switch. Will not work correctly otherwise

It is my understanding that the Vip receivers can power the switch.

Vip 211 surely can not as I witnessed it not working on a "its not working because the power inserter is unplugged" trouble call last week.

Verify that the power inserter is plugged in to the same cable that leads to port one of your switch.
Verify that you are using a RG-6 rated cable preferably swept to 3Ghz.
Verify that there are no low frequency connectors in the line leading to problem receiver.
Allow the receiver to lock on the signal and do a software download then retest.

Make sure you have a clean LOS.

The one time I got readings like that it turned out a be a tree branch barely clipping 129.

No VIP receiver will power a DPP44 switch. that is why you get the power inserter so it will power the sat.
